“What a place to stay! A modern mansion remodeled to accommodate weddings and just 4 guest rooms. Had the pleasure of having the entire place for ourselves for one night! Gardens, main hall, a small kitchen - it’s all there. The room was lush and cozy. Great breakfast, served by wonderful and friendly staff! However, the bed was a bit small and way too soft for us.”

  • “The property was simply amazing. Beautifully decorated in old fashioned style. Very comfortable room. Good location. Short walk to the strip where we were able to find places to eat and drink. I recommend The Roundabout bar.”

  • “Lovely comfortable bed and bathroom, luxuriously appointed and high quality throughout the accommodation. Breakfast is generous and tasty, Gardens that are included are well worth a look.”

  • “Beautiful setting, very comfortable. Turtle bar is very nice”

  • “Maison Mouton is an old plantation house, beautifully laid out. My room was in a separate building (B): up a flight of stairs to a long and open room with two double beds (one of them a four-poster) and bathroom beyond. Personally I'd have liked a stronger light for reading, but a minor adjustment to the furniture solved the problem. The location is in an upscale suburb with tree-lined roads and a feeling of safety and security. Downtown (and don't miss the magnificent Byzantine-style Cathedral - funded by M Mouton - if you're that way inclined) is a couple of miles away. Worth noting that breakfast was at (not from) 8.30 am: it was excellent and, of course, freshly cooked. Guests sit at a long table, so if that suits you, you will love it; if you prefer more flexibility and privacy it won't. On the second morning the very experienced manageress gave a detailed and interesting account both of the property's heritage and of the locality. Interesting to learn that local rice paddies often double as crawfish ponds!”
