- From $98.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 918 reviewsThe add-ons were great. The pools and the breakfast were excellent. However, the bed could be a little more comfortable. And our room had mold around the window frame. Not just a little bit, but a lot. I know that is a problem in some parts of Spain, due to very high humidity, but it is inexcusable for a hotel that boasts a 4 Star rating. Unfortunately, I realized it when it was very late, and we were staying only one night anyway, so we didn't ask to be moved. But besides that, the hotel offers really good value for money. The sulfur pool was very relaxing and my wife loved her massage, and very reasonable price.Guest review byJULIOUnited States
- From $108.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,218 reviewsProperty was very historic and beautiful. The location could not be any better. The restaurant was also excellent. Be sure to get the room you paid for as our first room was not as expected. They graciously moved us to a superior room with balcony and a view. We visited in January which is low season and there were no crowds.Guest review byMoseleyUnited States

Caceres is well worth a trip.Theres lots to see and much atmosphere to soak up.Nice friendly city/town with many nearby places worth a visit such as Truillo and Guadalupe......Actually the historic architecture in both Caceres and Truillo is something to write home about!..If your into nature there are literally scores of square Kms of wild flowers in the surrounding countryside thanks to light touch farming practises and this brings many insects which in turn bring many birds and other creatures...Definitely worth a trip is the national park in Monfrague so youll need to hire a car to get the best of that type of thing.Guest review bymichaelIreland - 8.0

Plasencia is a small town, the centre has narrow hilly streets, parking in the centre is difficult but there is plenty of free parking near to the park with an escalator to take you up the steep hill to the centre. There are several supermarkets, a Carrafeur on the North side and several smaller supermarkets on the south side. There is a river running along the East side. There are many restaurants available, fast food near to the Carrafeur and more upmarket ones in the centre. Plasencia is at the foot of the Jerte valley, where most of the cherries in Spain are grown, you can drive to the top of the valley, which takes around an hour and is very scenic.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely city, well recommended.
Lovely city, well recommended. Good food generally and we found one superb restaurant. People tend to eat later than many areas so be aware of this. Plenty to do for a 2 night stay. Very interesting place.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Hervás is a lively and charming little historic town, located in an area of stunning natural beauty, and conveniently located for travellers who are heading along, or across, the Ruta de la Plata highway in western Spain, not too far from the border with Portugal, at any time of the year. The town itself is very pedestrian friendly, full of culture with great restaurants, bars, shops and a great collection of sculpture and paintings in the Museo Perez Comendador-Leroux. The locals are really welcoming, the food and wine are fantastic, and it's the kind of place that gets under your skin and keeps you coming back again!Guest review byJamesSpain - 10.0

Hotel lovely but surrounding cafe restaurants were a little shoddy, a sweep of the streets now and then could go a long way, not alot of variation. Nice shops selling local produce. Recommend Dalboroque lovely little bar selling craft beers and really nice wines get some tapa there too. Run by a lovely young lady named Jessica, well worth a visit and only 2 or 3 minutes from the parador on Calle Gregorio Lopez 3Guest review byMarionUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Ours was only an over night stop en route to Cadiz . It was fine for the night- and we were travelling with 3 dogs in very inclement weather. The outside paved area was fenced, ideal to let the dogs out without fear they may run off ‘exploring’. We are confident we left the accommodation in excellant order as should anyone, with pets or not.Guest review byJaneFrance - 8.0
Spain at Easter time is generally complicated.
Spain at Easter time is generally complicated. But even so, we managed to book restaurants without any major problems and visit the main attractions. Cáceres is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain (and I say this as someone who has seen many), with a fantastic historic center and lots to see, including in the surrounding area — Mérida, Cáceres, Trujillo, Los Barruecos... We will definitely be back one day.Guest review byCarlos A. A.Portugal - 8.0
Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists.
Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists. We booked in advance a guided visit (in English) through the tourist office wich is to recommend. We tried the restaurants InMercado and Casa Juan and both had good food to fair prices. Casa Juan had an unusual table decor and served a typical local dinner including the sheep milk cheese Tarta de Casar.Guest review byNordjyllandDenmark - 10.0

Trujillo is a fascinating historical city with plenty to see. Take time to wander the streets and visit the museums. The Tourist Office, whilst helpful, could not offer guided tours in English and our 2 hour tour in Spanish was challenging even if you have a good level of Spanish. But it did introduce us to back streets which I didn't see the last time I was in Trujillo. It is also only just over an hour by car to Guadalupe, Caseres, Placensia and the National Park. Stunning scenery. We lucked out the first night finding the amazing Alberca Asador restaurant near to our hotel. There are lots of restaurants in the main plaza for all tastes with a more holiday vibe.Guest review byJosephineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

An interesting historic town, probably used in winter as a snow sports venue. There are however plenty of local walks and the local bars are really good (Pickaporte especially) Ideal location midway across Spain if you are travelling right across or indeed heading to /from PortugalGuest review byMichaelSpain
