“The hotel is a small oasis in a very busy part of the town. The rooms are large with good sized balconies looking over the pool. The décor in the rooms is basic but everything worked (although the power did keep going on and off in the evening!) We really liked the shared fridge and sink area with washing up liquid etc. Menus are also provided to order food in if you don't want to drive into town or to a beach club. Hotel has a small area to park. The pool is clean and a good size although was so full of children the evening we arrived we didn't get to use it until the morning. Staff are very helpful and helped us book a dolphin viewing trip as we checked in - we were then out on the sea (and saw dolphins) an hour later! Breakfast was a nice surprise.”

“The hotel is really beautiful and the bedrooms large and well designed. The balcony looking out over the forest was lovely and having a small fridge in the room was useful. Pool was large with plenty of space to sit around it and pool towels were readily available. The location close to Calakmul temples, meant we were able to remain in the park until closing and enjoy them with almost no other tourists. The ruins felt much busier in the morning than the afternoon.”

“Good place as a base to visit Calakmul and other Maya sites (recommend Becan - it was deserted when we were there and nicely excavated). Good restaurant for regional and european food.”

“We loved our stay here and the self catering family apartment was perfect. The hotel is set up like a posh youth hostel with a shared kitchen area. In addition to this, there is a self catering apartment where we stayed. This was very large and arranged over two floors with a kitchen at ground level, two huge bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a small balcony. The kitchen had a large fridge/ freezer, hob, a good range of pans etc. and coffee machine. Filtered drinking water and ground coffee was provided too. The pool was very small but nice for a refreshing dip at the end of the day. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the old town. Parking was very easy to find in the street outside the hotel. There are a few restaurants and a nice pizza place nearby and small supermarket in walking distance. The larger supermarkets are about a 5 minute drive away. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we really enjoyed having the option to cook for ourselves.”
