- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 661 reviewsIncredible village, One of the prettiest I have ever seen. The accommodation is perfect. Clean rooms, excellent facilities and superb location. Lots of parking. We will definitely be back for longer next time. We had dinner in the restaurant. The staff are great, really friendly and the food was excellent. The bfast was also excellent. We had a 10 month old baby with us and a cot was supplied for him as well. I highly recommend. Good idea to book dinner in advance.Guest review byBenFrance

This was our third visit to Millau and we will return to the area in future. There is a lot to see and do and some very good, reasonably priced, restaurants. We enjoyed walking along the well kept river bank, visiting the museum and the Cité de Pierres.Guest review byStephenFrance - 4.0
There is really nothing special about Ales.
There is really nothing special about Ales. There are much more scenic and historically interesting cities in this area. I stayed for two nights in order to visit the wine country south of the city. I think next time I'll stay in Arles instead.Guest review bystefenUnited States - 8.0

The hotel was fine, in line with what I expected. The dinner was exceptional – hats off to the chef for preparing a wonderful meal. The value proposition for dinner and for the hotel was very good. Recommended.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We only bought food this time.
We only bought food this time. But on earlier visit stayed at Grand Hotel du Parc which was very good. Streets are narrow and one way system can be difficult. Best to use parking at edge of town in high season.Guest review byColinFrance - 8.0

We planned our stay in Anduze to enjoy the local steam train trip from Anduze to Saint Jean du Gard. Our hosts Sara and Jonathon proved to be wonderful. The conversation (in English) flowed and many stories were enjoyed. A recommended local restaurant for dinner was enjoyed plus breakfast on the terrace back at our accommodation. We planned two nights but due to car issues, only managed one.Guest review byRobJuddAustralia - 8.0
A very pretty and historic village in a stunning location.
A very pretty and historic village in a stunning location. Although we visited out of season it was still quite busy and we imagine that in high season it might be very overcrowded and not very pleasant. We struggled to find a good choice of restaurant for our one evening meal there as it seemed there were several restaurants at 'Ground level' but with rather expensive menus for average food as you would expect in a tourist town. We eventually chose a Creperie which had good and generous portions at a fair price. However the location was not easy for us as retirees as it was at the top of the village and required a difficult climb and descent on either cobblestone or quite slippery steps. Fine for young people but not so good for the elderly. We can recommend an outing to La Malene - the next village for a trip on the Battalieres of the Tarn who provided a wonderful small boat trip down the river which was unforgetable.Guest review byRobertFrance - 10.0

It is an interesting and attractive town - we could have explored much more. But we were there for the walking and the Causses are something else. Don't all go and see please: the quietness and isolation is important! The Gorges du Tarn is also magnificent.Guest review byRWUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I ended up in Millau by accident when my car broke down on the highway. When I arrived at the hotel I had booked overnight it was raining and the pizza prepared by the hotel was cold. However, all of that was compensated by seeing the Millau Viaduct poking out of the early morning fog in the valley as I left the town on my bus to Montpellier.Guest review byAlf - 10.0

Ales is a vibrant little town which has grown where others have diminished! There are many places around to visit. Les Jardins de la Fontaine is a little oasis right in the centre of town. When you close the gate you could be in the country, quite delightful, a few minutes walk from the bustling centre with bars and restaurants.Guest review bySueNew Zealand - 8.0
Mende is a charming regional capital.
Mende is a charming regional capital. There are many places to visit in the wider Lozere area, We visited an outdoor art trail, a Spa and the beautiful Tarn Gorge during our visit and felt that we could spend much longer exploring the wider region. The restaurants and bars in Mende were welcoming and we enjoyed great local beers and produce.Guest review byAngus
