Everything about the hotel was fab, we arrived to the genuinely welcoming smile of front receptionist Nina, an absolute pleasure to deal with, helpful informative and just lovely. The room was great, we had breakfast delivered and it was scrumptious. On leaving we met Jonathan, again a fantastic representative funny and extremely helpful. We'll be visiting again thats for sure!!

"Stay at a friends home." I was given a very hospitable welcome. James offered me tea as soon as I arrived. In the evening there was even a glass of wine. I was invited to stay in the living room or walk through the garden. There was always time for short conversations, which made my stay more pleasant. James prepared breakfast directly in the morning. The Irish breakfast was arranged according to my taste. For me there was freshly brewed coffee, orange juice, fruit, cereals, toast, beans and a selection of meats. The accommodation really looks like the pictures! If you like the style of an old country house, this is the place for you. Everything has been lovingly renovated to a high standard. The heating and the bathroom with shower were up to date but adapted to the style. All in all, highly recommended. I am glad that I found this accommodation.

Amazing unusual more then 200 years old house with lot of common space on the ground floor (dining area with bar, kitchen and two tea rooms). The host Ross was more than helpful and welcomed us with his dog. The house is located in the tidy heritage town with an great local pub "Morrisey's" just a 5 min by walk from house. I can fully recommend this accommodation.

This was one of the most thoughtful accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. They were so mindful of our experience and went above and beyond to make our visit special. This was our first night in Ireland after a long night of traveling and they helped us check in early, ensure we were fed delicious homemade food, and answered all our questions.

Everything about the property and our stay there was fabulous. The fire was lighting when we arrived and it was so comfortable and welcoming. The house was spotless and very spacious. The kitchen and fridge was stocked with some items, which was a very thoughtful touch. We were reluctant to leave but we will definitely be back.

Portlaoise is a lovely town with plenty to offer. We enjoyed great coffee at Chocolate Brown and Square Coffee, visited beautiful local churches, and found a variety of excellent restaurants. Shopping was convenient, and overall the town felt very safe and welcoming.

The hotel is beautifully presented and well maintained. The staff could not offer any more assistance than they did, always going that extra which makes the difference when deciding if we are willing to go back. I could not recommend this hotel more and will definitely be going back but for a longer stay.

I stayed there because my parents used to live just outside of the town and the hole family returned to reunite are mum with my dad who is buried there, a lot of the town has sadly closed down and there’s and there’s not a lot to do or see during the day every thing is closed and it’s hard to get anything to eat or drink.

Mountmellick is a quiet town. It offers some sites and history (founded by Quakers), but more importantly if you are staying there, the area is well sited for day excursions to other sites. It is a quiet, mostly farming community.

We wanted to stay near Rathdowney as we did research at the library regarding ancestors. We booked at the Ashbrook Arms in Durrow. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. The Ashbrook Arms is absolutely lovely. The property had been a carriage house in the last century. Beautifully restored, and the owners are kind and helpful. We enjoyed an evening at Bob's Pub across the street. Enjoyed the locals dancing and singing. The town is beautiful and walkable. The Durrow Castle and the local parks are a must see. Durrow is a memorable part of our tour of IRELAND.

Wanted to eat in proper Irish pub with live music as we have done at several other locations. Loads of bars, none serving food. Plenty of takeaways but didn’t want to sit on a bench to eat. Stayed at end of holiday so wanted to take home some local produce, cheese, bread, cakes but just one supermarket selling same as UK. Handy stopping off point between Killarney and Dublin but little else going for it

The apartment was fully furnished with high end sofas, beds, bed linen, towels etc. The heating was on a timer and came on throughout our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and they had even left coffee, tea, sugar etc. It was a two minute walk to The Heritage Hotel which we ate in (gorgeous food) and there are plenty of lovely walks in the area. The apartment even has a lift! A beautiful apartment to stay in. We will definitely be back again soon.
