- From $183 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 1,112 reviewsWe were met by Chris ( the manager), and we mentioned to him that we first stayed at the Izzak Walton Hotel in 1993 and this was an anniversary trip to celebrate this. Chris could not do enough to make our stay very special. We have to say the whole team were exceptional in how they looked after us during our stay here. Also a special mention to Salim who looked after us during breakfast 👍👏. The hotel is in a perfect location for some beautiful walks and a great place to get away for some quiet time. We'll done to the whole team 👍👏 from Danielle and John.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom

Not a grand or particularly luxurious hotel but full of character made even better by the wonderful staff. They went out of their way to make everyones stay a really good one. Food was very good too The hotel is in an ideal position for the Monsal trail with lots of other walks right on your doorstep. The views are spectacular!Guest review byTrishUnited Kingdom

Recently renovated, very comfort and beautifully warm. The en-suite had a huge bath (and shower) with endless hot water. The building is just beautiful with lots of space to relax in the lounges. It is located right in town so you park your car and walk everywhere. Great valueGuest review byMartynAustralia

We were in Derby to spend time with our grandchildren and there was so much to do there with them. We had family day passes on the busses and they loved the double Deckers and going to the various playgrounds and fun parks. Every day we found a different place to have lunch and there are so many to choose from.Guest review byGarryNew Zealand - 8.0

We spent a week at the Spread Eagle with the intention of it being our anchor for the Peak District. I would do it all over again, hands down. Chesterfield itself was a nice enough town but it wasn’t our focus so didn’t really think much about it. The traffic in downtown Chesterfield is a bit confusing, but I’m from the States, so not surprising. We ate almost every meal at the Spread Eagle.Guest review byThaddeusUnited States - 10.0

We had an amazing three night stay - the weather was 30degC and more every single day. The staff at the hotel were absolutely spot on - really helpful, very friendly and happy to chat. The pool is amazing and it was great to see how popular it is. Great walking routes from the hotel as well and a good bus service - we dined in Matlock one night. Quite handy for Donington Park too. We went to wee the world superbikes on the Sunday. A perfect weekend.Guest review byJason HallUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.Guest review byKunalUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It's a nice Market Town - currently undergoing a major Town Centre renewal, so it should be very nice when it's finished in a few months (the renewal didn't distract from our stay). It is very well placed, short drives to some iconic Peak District walksGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0
