We stayed in an apartment on Place du Parlement in the centre of the city. A perfect location for exploring the centre given it is predominantly pedestrianised. There are plenty of great restaurants, galleries, and shops within an easy walk. We particularly enjoyed dinner at restaurant Vivants in Rue des Bahutiers. The tram system is straight forward to use and makes it simple to visit attractions further out, we used it to go to the Bassins des Lumières located in the old WW2 submarine pens on the north side of the city. Bordeaux is a perfect size for a short break or as base for exploring the famous local wine regions.Guest review byNickAustralia - 10.0

We loved the town, we enjoyed the variety of shops and restaurants. The beach was awesome. We visited Dune Pilat, climbed to the top and were astounded by the views. We would have liked to see much more of the area but our time was short. It was a taste that left us wanting to savour much much more, hopefully soon.Guest review byCAMERONAustralia - 8.0

The old fishing area north of the centre ville, was very interesting. La Pestacle was an excellent choice for lunch. Large LeClerq supermarket situated in a very smart indoor complex of big brands/ names, was very close to the hotel and met our every need.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype.
Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype. The monolithic church and the Cloisters were orth the visit. Some great caves (cellars) are located on the edge of the village and are usually happy for you to visit and taste some sensational wines. If you intend to visit any of the wineries within a few kilometers of the village a booking prior to arriving in St Emillion is essential. Great placeGuest review byJoanneAustralia - 10.0

The location of this B&B hotel was very convenient for our overnight stop. The room was in excellent condition, everything in the room was in working order and the beds were comfortable. Only one pillow per bed. Breakfast was very good. The only downside was that both the Coffee & Vending machines were not working.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Best to have a car.
Best to have a car. We used our car very day to drive to various vineyards and wineries on both the left bank and the right bank. The location of the chateau is near the main highway and easy to access. There were ample local shops and restaurants within a short drive from the chateau to grab cheese, bread, and supplies.Guest review byamieUnited States - 8.0

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is incredibly pet friendly. Our room had a huge bed which was comfortable. Usual French style pillows. Excellent buffet breakfast and walking distance to a restaurant or service station cafeteria for dinner. Only possible complaint was no English channels on TV but then we were in France so not surprising lol! Will thoroughly recommend and stay again. Will also try other Ace hotels now to see if they're as good. Gets 5* from us.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
