There is so much to do in Chicago.
There is so much to do in Chicago. If you don't mind walking, then get your walking shoes on as it is possible to walk from the museum campus to Navy Pier and enjoy all of the sites in between. However, if you also want to travel further around without all the walking, I recommend the 7 day pass on the Ventra Card. My e-mail said we had reservations at Rosemont, but our hotel was actually the Cumberland. Could have been much better direction to the hotel. I believe that's on Booking.com which I will most likely never use again. It caused a lot of problems. The hotel at Rosemont seemed nice. Schaumburg is a beautiful city that offers a variety of restaurants and is home to Woodfield mall, the biggest mall in the state of Illinois. Hotel easy to find close enough to the freeways but away from most of the traffic. It does seem that red lights are a suggestion a LOT of people that just think yellow means go faster? 3-4 cars at a time at most lights after it turns red, so be careful. 1. Bloomington-Normal is a sprawling shopping center with a university attached to it. The main attraction is Illinois State University and primarily draws student's families to it. Has a lot of restaurants and hotels, some are very good (Indian restaurants, breakfast joints), some are terrible. There is someone at the front desk 24/7. There may be no convenience store nearby but they do have water, soda and chips for sale for a reasonable price. A beautiful and distinctive old home, both inside and out that is expertly maintained and exceptionally clean. The large common area was good for visiting with friends. The staff was friendly and helpful. The plentiful breakfast was a help yourself with options for cold or items like frozen breakfast sandwiches that you could heat in the microwave. I loved the wide variety of breakfast items from which to choose. We parked in the 3-space parking area by the side of the house, but there was street parking available too. The Inn was full, but it was very quiet. The staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Towels and sheets were dirty, old and stained with blood which was very much a turn off for me. The front desk should have shown more concern.
