Barmouth is a lovely seaside town.
Barmouth is a lovely seaside town. I have been coming here every year for over 50 years and it is like a second home to me. Will continue to visit this wonderful place. Harlech castle isn’t far along the coast with several fab beaches along the way. Barmouth bridge walk is lovely with a ferry boat in Fairbourne to take you back to Barmouth harbour.Guest review byTraceyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Brecon is a great little centre for walking with a nice atmosphere and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We live an hours drive away but it is really nice to book for a weekend away and to explore the area, the weather isn’t always kind so staying in Brecon provides for alternatives if necessary.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There is a community annual newspaper available listing and describing a variety of hikes. I personally took the Precipice trail, a two hour easy to moderate trail, only about 4 km from town, with it's own courtesy carpark and toilets. Minimum elevation change with scenic views. Would highly recommend the Stag Inn and Royal Ship hotel for food and drink. The Torrent Walk hotel was also a favorite.Guest review byCraig - 8.0

Rhayader is a lovely town but there is nothing much there anymore. It is the gateway town to Elan Valley, which is absolutely awesome...... the scenery and the walks are stunning. Couple of nice places to eat in Rhayader .... the Triangle and the Eagle. Theres a lovely riverside walk and the Gigrin is a must to see the Red Kites.Guest review byAndieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I don't travel too far from the property, as I am happy with the local context, but if you like travelling out, then there is lots on locally and further out of Llandovery. Lots of stillness, peace and enjoying the natural world. Due to allergies, cooking facilities in the property make it really easy for eating in. Solo and families can enjoy lots of walks. A scattering of independent shops and pubs to enjoy.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The Seven Stars at Aberedw is fabulous.
The Seven Stars at Aberedw is fabulous. Fantastic people working there, the food is excellent, with large portions, the rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean. There are quite a few pubs in Builth Wells centre, but nome of them match the Seven Stars at Aberedw. Visit the White Hart in Builth Wells, a locals pub, but they make you feel very welcome.Guest review byDaveUnited Kingdom - 6.0

If you are looking for an amazing beach with great dunes for long walks Aberdyfi is great. Other than that it is a very quiet seaside town with a few shops and places to eat. There is a train station that can take you along the coast, also a golf club and a bowling clubGuest review byAmandaUnited Kingdom
