“Craft house has 2 beds for women in a Japanese style Tatami room, it's clean and warm. I traveled alone, but then had 2 nights slept very well here. The house is right opposite to Kegon falls, super easy to come and see the Falls in the morning with the Sunshine 🌞 There is just 1 restaurant opens for Dinner in this area, but there is a small super market opens to 20:00 so you can get food from here, it is 450m from the house.
The host - Makoto san is super super nice and hospitable person. Even we already had the food from the market, he also brought us some salads, boiled eegs, tofu, and Tsukemono from a famous restaurant in this area. The breakfast is very delicious, he said that this will provide enough energy for people can go to the mountain and forest to enjoy nature of Nikko.
He likes sharing the tourist information and characteristic of the area to the guest, so don't hesitate to ask him for any information if you need. On the morning we decided to walk to Yomoto Onsen from the house, he even offered to drive us to the beginning point of the Walking course.”
“The owners were amazing. They were very friendly and really went above and beyond (eg they talked us through the house and the area and gave us a hand annotated map with highlights of the area and restaurants including opening hours which was very helpful as things close early, they let us use the washing machine and helped us the station with our luggage).
The rooms were really large and very nice (clean, comfortable, and lots of character with little fun items, there seems to be a cat theme). The hotel also has everything you could need (eg kettle, microwave).
The location is great as it’s very close to the station and the main road with shops and restaurants. It’s also close to the historical area. It’s also on a quiet road next to a river which is nice.”
“It was really one of the best guesthouses I've ever been to. The host was a really nice guy, he could speak very good english and german, he was really helpful with everything and made me a delicious food.”
“Wow! Real Japanese house! Emi is a great host and very helpful in guiding for the Nikko experience and safe and comfortable stay! All the guests had a training of origami!”
“Hiro-san is a fantastic host. Super welcoming, speaks great English (which helped us a lot, since my Japanese is...barely functional), has a great sense of humor and is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable - so ask him for recommendations on anything! The place has everything you need, and more - even a mini-onsen that Hiro-san will prepare if you ask for it! If you end up sharing the place with another group your experience could vary, but for us (5 people) everything worked out perfectly. Thank you again to Hiro-san!”
