Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaExcellent location, right in the heart of Sibiu’s old town, just 500 meters from the Bridge of Lies and 600 meters from the Great Square. Casa Veche feels like a small, charming family-run hotel with authentic décor. The hostess is exceptionally attentive and always ready to help. Our room was spotless, cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided every day. We stayed as a family and absolutely loved it.

GermanyNothing major, just the shower temperature was a bit difficult to regulate
The host was very kind and caring and flexible with the check-in and check-out process, so I could make the most out of my short stay in Sibiu. The room was comfy, aircon worked fine, and it is a short walk from the train station.

IsraelRamona is a unique person. She and her husband Kosmin are exemplary hosts. Extremly kind and they help with any question or problem you have and do everything they can to make your stay with them pleasant in particular and in Sibiu in general. Their place is always pleasant, quiet and exceptionally clean and located in a pastoral street only 5 minutes walk from the center of the beautiful city. I highly recommend this place and I will always come back whenever I'll be in Sibiu. Thank you very much Ramona and Kosmin for your Wonderful hospitality.

United StatesI initially booked three nights, woke up the next morning after the best sleep I'd had in weeks, and immediately booked three more nights! I didn't realize there was such a difference in rooms but the owner allowed me to choose room #6 on the top floor which was peaceful, comfortable, sufficient AC as needed, and an incredibly large bathroom! I couldn't have asked for anything more, including strong WiFi and desk to catch-up on work, and the stash of large umbrellas for going out in the rain. The facility is incredible, host so helpful and welcoming, and truly felt like a place to stay-in or come home to. I was in no hurry to leave! Less than 10-minute walk to the Train or Bus Station in one direction, the center of Old Town in the other. 2+ months traveling and this is the best place I've stayed!

AustraliaIt was awesome, clean, homely, aircon, near to the centre but out of it, close to the train station, close to cheap markets and restaurants, it was awesome.

United KingdomThe main improvement would be breakfast options - Even if Casa Veche came to an arrangement with a local bakery to supply warm croissants and fresh juice, this would be better than nothing. COVID made providing breakfast uneconomical it seems, as previous reviews prior to 2020 mentioned breakfast. I would like English tea in the room and some milk/cream pods provided.
I really liked the location: a magic combination of a 10 minute walk to the beautiful main square and the many incredible food and drink offerings, whilst still being on a quiet, peaceful street with no through traffic, or entertainment venues to disrupt the night. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the near-silent air conditioning was fantastic to have on 5 hot August nights. The bed was big, very comfy, and the light bedding provided was perfectly judged to make a guest comfortable without overheating. The room (Room 2) is ideal for a single or a couple, but might feel a bit cramped if using the fold out bed to sleep a third and/or fourth person. The bathroom was spotless and felt really calming, especially after walking around and exploring in the heat, and drinking at my friend's wedding late into the night. The shower was fantastic; really roomy, immaculately clean and modern, with a big head and good water pressure, and the shower gel and soaps were good quality. Ramona, the host, was very kind and so helpful, and although busy, responded to messages and voice-notes really quickly. Her attention to detail meant she added a little bedside table to the room, just so I could charge my phone by the bed still, but off the floor, instead of having to lay it on the floor to charge it.

United KingdomNo faults to speak of.
Outstanding family owned accommodation 10 minutes walk from the railway station and a similar distance from the main square. Very comfortable rooms in an atmospheric old building but with modern conveniences such as a spotless bathroom with good shower, and very welcome A/C. High speed WiFi. All in all, highly recommend. Old time hospitality provide by English speaking Ramona and family.
