There is quite a bit of noise that emanates from downstairs so that a room away from the stairs is preferable. The house is located quite a long way from the town centre along a narrow road, but you cannot see the lake from the property. Google Maps directs you to the wrong side of the road. The house is on the right, not on the left. The balcony is designed in such a way that you may have people sat chatting right outside your bedroom window.

I was given a choice between a small room with a large bathroom and no view at the top of the stairs and a much bigger room overlooking the swimming pool with a very small bathroom. I chose the latter. I think the latter proved quieter that evening. There is a private car park behind the house. The lady who checked me in was fluent in German. There is a balcony with tables and chairs surrounding the building. There was a nice view out of the window, but not of the lake.

It was in the mountains and you can see the Danube River. There is also a swimming pool if the weather is good. The convenience corresponds to the price. It is worth visiting St Ana monastery, which is close to Casa Marinela.

The stay here was a spontaneous trip, and I was not disappointed. The house is situated in beautiful and quiet surroundings with everything and more that you could want or need. The accommodation was immaculate,and the host Nicu was amazing. The accommodation offered was self-catering and had all plates, utensils you could want, with sufficient fridge space and dining areas. For those smoking, there is a large covered space as you step out of the main accommodation area. Bed was very comfortable, so I had the best sleep, with TV, full internet, and private bathrooms. Nicu showed me around Orșova and took me to Decebel along the Danube at extra cost. So so nice. There is plenty of parking available for those driving. There is no reason anyone should be disappointed staying here. I hope to be back as soon as I can

Bed not so confortable but the other beds of my friends were okay, dogs bark at night, maybe add storage in bedroom 3 and also bathroom, maybe shared wc for the living room

The only thing I would mention is the fact that the location is not close to the city

The place has everything you could need for a confortable stay. We apreciated the fully equipped kitchen, the dining room and the pool. You can even buy jem made by the oner.

The owners were very polite and spoke fluent English. They also changed the broken lamp immediately. The room and beds were cozy. The house offered coffee and tea for free. We could swim in the warm pool both late in the evening and in the morning.

Big clean room and bathroom, garden with swimming pool, parking beside the property. The owner allowed us to park our motorcycles in his own garage, which was perfect!

All was nice, except the weather, but that is no-one's fault. The boiler was in our room and it was loud when others were using hot water, but we are good sleepers, so it was not an issue.

The host was very kind, he waited for us although we arrived very late and welcomed us with a big smile. We had at our disposal the kitchen, where we prepared our breakfast, the room was clean. The nature and silence surrounding the house was what we needed.

When I visited, the road towards the property was being re-laid, which meant not only a mile-and-a-half of unmade road, but also negotiating lorries, tractors and diggers (it's a narrow road) as well as other traffic. The road adjacent to the property is unmade, but normally this would be only a couple of hundred yards. The wi-fi didn't work and my 'phone was picking up signals from Serbia, which could have resulted in roaming fees (but luckily, my network, which still has free EU roaming, requires a bolt-on for Serbia), but just caused my service to be patchy and time to be displayed from the wrong time zone! The only other minor issues were with lighting (switches in communal areas were located in places which necessitated walking in the dark) and a neighbour's dog which whined throughout the night.

I was made to feel very much at home at Casa Marinella by very friendly hosts who couldn't do enough for me; communication was difficult at first, until I realised that the family's first language is German, rather than Romanian (I speak German a lot better than I speak Romanian). The room was clean and comfortable, shared facilities include a pool, garden, balcony and a kitchen, there is always a pot of coffee in the dining room (and if not, everything necessary to make one!). The location is reasonably secluded, with mountain views, but also convenient for town and drives along the Danube. I loved my stay here and it was superb value. There is also a good-sized parking area.

Shower in my room was defective and electrocuted me. The owners were unaware but will hopefully fix it asap as could've been a lot worse - electric and water! Plates and cutlery could have been cleaner.

Owners were super friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean. Pool a little smaller than expected but great still and a good temperature. The owner has a friend who does boat tours and set us up with one which was nice :)
