Initially we were shown a room in the house with shared bathroom which would have been fine. The room we were given had an ensuite which had a strong smell coming from the drain.

Great value for money. Breakfast was good. Bathroom is shared with another room but no dramas. WIFI was good! Hot water takes a while but that's like most places in the region. Secured parking. Dirt road leading to the property, was fine for the 4x4 but depending if it's raining, might be a challenge for a smaller car.

The room was much older than in the pictures and not very clean. Unfortunately, there was also a bad smell that, of course, was not shown in the photos. The bathrooms between the rooms are oddly connected by a small window, which makes privacy difficult. On top of that, someone took my socks that I had left to dry on the rack outside, which was very disappointing. The worst part was that the lady at the reception asked me money just to use a plate – which felt like an attempt to take advantage of a tourist. Even though the room was very cheap, I cannot recommend it. Please stop treating visitors this way. We come to your country to enjoy its beauty and culture, and we deserve the same respect we show.

Nothing. -only for busy season, the bathroom and shower are shared, so it’s a good idea to leave yourself a bit of extra time.

The place was in a very convenient location—you can easily walk both to the town center and to the lakeside. It’s also less than a kilometer from the bus drop-off point. One of the staff members, a lovely young woman, was especially helpful. She gave me great advice about transportation, and even noticed right away when I had forgotten something at the lodge and contacted me. I once missed breakfast because I didn’t communicate well, but she went out of her way to make up for it and kept checking on me. Her kindness and thoughtfulness really meant a lot. Highly recommended!

My stay at this centrally-located Gisenyi apartment was exceptional. The helpful manager and friendly staff made me feel welcome throughout my visit. I enjoyed peaceful nights thanks to the quiet location and comfortable bed. The shared kitchen with all necessary utensils was a great convenience, as was the availability of drinks on the property. Being in the city center meant easy access to laundry services, gym facilities, and the bus park. A highlight was the massage service - expertly done and reasonably priced. The property is just a pleasant 20-minute walk from beautiful Lake Kivu, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

This is not the Hilton. The reason people choose to stay here is because of the low price compared to other places on Booking. The manager is friendly and tries hard to please the guests. The breakfast was decent. There is a massage room there and they offer an amazing and very affordable massage. Just because it is a low price though , doesn't mean that it should compromise on basics. We booked a private room with a bathroom. The bathroom has a shared wall with the neighboring "private" bathroom. The top portion of the wall is just a screen- so you hear your neighbors using the toilet, chatting, showering and you hear their phone ringing too. Not to mention the fact that sharing bathroom air is not pleasant... The light bulb in the room dims and brightens annoyingly. The site claims there is a view of the lake and the city. There is neither. The room description is not accurate either. A lot of what is listed on Booking.com regarding this place is simply not true. There is no flat-screen TV. No minibar and kettle. To be honest, I would be surprised if an inexpensive option like this had those things, but that is what is listed on Booking. Drinking water is not included. We asked for a water bottle and were later told they were being charged for it. When I told the manager that I didn't know I was being charged, he waived the charge. It feels like this place is still figuring out how to attract tourists.

Place is runned by an exceptionally helpful host. Who is really cares about his guests. Cleanness is perfect. Location is on city center, you can easily get to restaurants, laundry etc.
