The Château Elysium has a beautiful location with a great view of the Indian Ocean, right across from the stunning Beau Vallon beach. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, especially with the small number of other guests staying at this converted villa.

The hotel's poor communication with immigration almost ruined my entire trip to the Seychelles. Instead of explaining to immigration that I was supposed to pay upon arrival, they simply informed them that I was 'not paid.' This led to a very difficult time with immigration before I was finally allowed to enter. Secondly, the 'Frida Sun Shine Bath & Shower Gel' bath soap, which contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) as well as the fragrance and essential oils (sweet orange peel oil, linalool), stung my eyes badly.

Property is gorgeous, clean, very spacious, right on the water, the staff were extremely hospitable. Breakfast service was wonderful.

Beautiful colonial style property with lovely rooms that had a balcony - definitely go for a sea view room though! Nice breakfast included - served. Nice pool and right on the beach, so it's easy to walk to places. Also a couple of supermarkets just a few mins walk away, which was convenient.

WiFi a bit patchy but manageable. Nothing else really - I enjoyed this place best of the three places we stayed in the Seychelles.

Some facilities did not work properly

The hotel is a really beautiful house with stunning sea views and excellent access to the beach. Breakfast was generous and varied, and we were even treated to dinner on one of the days. The manager and staff were exceptionally attentive, making our stay truly enjoyable.

The construct of the place is like a historical villa. Amazing interiors with a grand staircase that gives a royal look to the place. The location is right on the beach and also walkable to the main road of beau vallon with all the shops and restaurants. Chobi the caretaker and Peter the manager were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. We were served an alcoholic welcome drink which was a first for me. Budget wise place was not very expensive compared to the hotels but more than the self catering apartments.

A little more options for breakfast would have been perfect. But we did get eggs toast juice fruit pancake and sausages so cannot complain.

It's a gorgeous mansion at the beach with a beautiful swimming pool. The rooms are well equipped, beautiful and has a huge bathroom and a balcony with see view and the air-condition is well positioned. I definitely recommend it.

The building from the outside and the location right next to the beach are perfect. It is a perfect place for sundowns. The pool is huge and the view from the terrace is also really nice. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They offered us a nice taxi driver and contact for car rental with delivery at the hotel.

Unfortunately the building is not taking care of. Our bed was falling apart and was really soft. A new mattress would be great. For a five star rating the amenities in the bathroom were really cheap and there was almost no water pressure in the shower so that the rain shower was useless. This place could be such a perfect place if someone would renovate it with passion. Everything is just a bit outdated and outworn. The AC in the middle of the room was really loud at night so that we couldn’t sleep.

Breakfast great, needs a little maintenance on the property. weekend the locals who us eth beach play loud "head banging music from 10am to 6pm - does affect the guests on the beach out front Beach is stunning and great for early morning walks

The view!! And a very beautiful building. The proximity to the beach, spacious room, and the kindness of the staff made the stay more pleasant.

Very old room! The AC is broken and doesn't work properly, multiple infrastructure issues (door, bed, leaking bathtub!!), and especially lots of big cockroaches! A beautiful building that really needs renovation!

The atmosphere of this place is unique. A beautiful colonial-style villa with a swimming pool, right on the beach. Surrounded by greenery, the sound of the ocean and several good restaurants along the beach. We recommend ordering dinner at the hotel, Chhabie makes wonderful dishes. You can rent a car on site. This place feels like visiting your family summer house. It feels so cozy and home-like that you can easily accept its sometimes old furniture or bathroom. The breakfast was very basic (eggs, yogurt and vegetables). Rooms were cleaned. AC was working properly. Location is outstanding. The garden opens into the ocean, you may walk there barefooted before breakfast. Water and the beach are superb.

As mentioned – some of the furniture in the room is somewhat old. So is bathroom (with a very noisy fan).
