The location is super great. You can go hiking and it even has a ski area. The host is really super friendly and speaks many languages. The food was really delicious and we can highly recommend the accommodation.

The dinner (set dinner with a choice of chicken or fish) was somewhat overpriced when compared to the rate of the rooms etc. It was good though and I would still recommend having your dinner at this place. Alone the view from the restaurant is probably worth the every penney :-)

Excellent views from the rooms (this applies to all rooms as far as I could see). Nice room with standard amenities. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay at this place. The rooms were cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the view was amazing. There were plenty of hiking options nearby, and one can also enjoy paddling and fishing in the lake. The owner was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. 😊

Rooms a bit on a smaller side, but for 1 night it was fine. No dinner available after 7 pm, but wine and beer were offered:)

It is a beautiful quaint house right on the lakeshore. We had a balcony and a lakeview, which was superb. It has a cosy homy atmosphere. Rooms were clean, area around beautiful, there are places for swimming and fishing. Breakfast is continental. We loved it.

A dream of a place to stay... Loved it here! The host is so warm and welcoming and helpful, and the place is just amazing. The hotel is beautifully decorated and adorned with so much character and charm. Our room was beautiful, newly decorated, comfortable and perfectly clean. Opted for the lake view option in booking and having the balcony was wonderful watching the sun go down over the lake. And the lake, it is just lovely. Sat and enjoyed it for hours and loved a morning swim. Highly highly recommended place to stay. I would live here if I could...

The first day the beds felt a little uncomfortable but the second day after following the suggested hiking paths the sleep was a dream! The whole experience is like living in a fairytale for a while. For us was our honeymoon so we will remember for a long time Edsleskogs Wärdshud and for sure try to visit it again. Thank you Johan for everything!

We enjoyed our room, the hallway, the dining room and all the spaces in this amazingly decorated and warm hotel. You literally feel that you are entering Johan's home and he is an incredible host. Discrete and with concrete suggestions for activities in the area. The breakfast was amazing for simple reasons. It had everything a person needs to head start his/her day, with both salty and sweet tastes. But what made the breakfast unique is again the hospitality of Johan, who filled our personal bottles with coffee for the hikes and said up front that we are allowed to take some food with us for the day. This literally make a huge difference from a good to an exceptional host. And this is literally what Johan is!

The high unknown charge (I didn't ask and he didn't offer) for dinner and wine. We had two plates of lake salmon, potato and salad with 3 glasses of wine and a small beer for $180aud or 1245 Swedish Kroner. Whilst it was convenient with the nearest town 18 kms away it was not value for money.

Loved the peaceful lake and property. The host was very helpful, Bookings.com stated there was a charge facility for our car. There wasn't but he allowed us to plug into his normal power for a slow charge @200kms for 15 hours. Plus he gave great tips for where we should travel too.

Despite having booked and confirmed in February we were told with 7 hours notice that our room had been double booked for the first night. No assistance was given and our first day in Sweden was consequently stressful and expensive.

Lovely views of the lake. Nicely decorated in an idiosyncratic way. Host was pleasant.
