How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay at Reindeer River Lights Lodge! The home is so cozy and charming. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive and willing to provide recommendations. We also cooked some of our own meals and the kitchen was very well stocked. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone making a trip to Kiruna!
Nothing! We absolutely loved our stay!

Verified reviewhis was a place we stayed for one night while on the road. I believe it would be an amazing house in winter for watching the northern lights or the stars—the design allows you to lie in bed and see the aurora from inside the house. Unfortunately, we visited in summer, so we couldn’t experience that. There’s a reindeer river nearby, along with some chickens and a dog, giving it a charming countryside feel. The host was very kind and made sure to check if we needed anything.
For us, the main issue in this season was the number of mosquitoes—every time we opened the door, several would fly in. This wasn’t a problem with the house itself, just the time of year. Also, the space is quite compact. Since most of our other accommodations on this trip were more spacious, this 30-square-meter house felt a bit tight. The lighting inside the house was quite dim—perhaps intentionally designed for viewing the northern lights—but the bathroom was really too dark.
Hello! Thank you for staying with us and were so happy you enjoy the river and country feel:) please come again!

Verified reviewWell appointed tiny home in a great location close to tourist activities and not too far from the city center. Perfect home base for exploring the area. Great communication with hosts, who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
During the summer months when there is no snow and 24 hours of sunlight, everyone in the area undertakes their construction projects and preparations for the next winter, but this was only a minor inconvenience.

Verified reviewWish we had more nights here! The lodge B was modern, clean and comfortable. The location was great with many windows that were ideal for viewing the northern lights. The shades were helpful for the morning. The owners were accessible and the communication with them was easy. I would highly recommend this place!
We didn't realize the light switches were all dimmers. I would suggest mentioning that to guests ahead of time so we don't think it's broken. The neighbor also kept their back porch light on all night...still saw the aurora.

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved everything about this cabin. It is located next to a frozen lake with easy access for walking and wild rain deer watching. The owner is very responsive, incredibly helpful and discrete. The decoration and the ambient is so cosy and warm. But the main highlight are of course the windows facing north where you can watch aurora directly from your bad. Incredible and unforgettable.

Verified reviewThe property is easy to find and perfectly located at the lake that leads to Jukkasjärvi. We took a 30 min walk to the ice hotel. The house is like a tiny house but with a very spacious bathroom. All in all it looked really high-grade.

Verified reviewThe lodge is very nice but nothing work! If you switch on hair-dryer or kettle electricity went out. The shower was warm for 2-3 people but the other two had a cold shower! No space for luggage, you have to keep them in living room! Not enough light in bathroom!!

Hello Marialuisa, Were sorry your stay wasnt more than satisfactory. We take issues very seriously always encourage our guests to let us know if something is wrong when they are here:) All our lights are adjustable to suit each guests preference. You just hold the button in to dim up or down:) We prefer cozy lighting in our accommodations to feel the warm hughes of a fireplace or candles. Of course if you prefer even brighter lights we have extra lamps we can supply to create a white lighting environment aswell:) During short periods of extreme arctic cold below -30 in early January it is sometimes possible to have a momentary electrical trip if alot of appliances are being used at once but its quite rare. The water heater is 120 liters and usually sufficient but with longer showers, sometimes you need to wait a little bit for it to reheat after the first 3-4 people.

Verified reviewProperty was precisely as described, location was remote but still close enough to walk wherever needed, also within range for tours to pick up at accommodation.
Property is well designed, has a homely feel and a modern cabin look. Marc (host) was also exceptional, very attentive and always willing to help and advise, made it feel like staying around a friends house, even before arriving as he answered every question in contact property.
