How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified review5 minutes of walking distance to alvik station, which is 15 minutes away from central station by metro. there is a market open between 7-23. rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, noise isolation was good so we dont hear other rooms.
a/c was working all the time and maximum degree could be set was 24c, we got cold at night but couldnt get it warmer. water pressure at shower was kind of low, it could be higher.

Check-inn: we were early, the room was ready, but as it was before 16:00 they wanted us to pay app EUR 20 extra…… no thnx, We will wait…. Parking: we parked on parking of Hotel and mentioned this when we arrived: OK sir, that is fine. When really checked in again mentioned it, asking if we pay now or at check-out: No sir, you need to scan the sign at parking lot, download an app (in Swedish) and then pay there….. as it was in Swedish the receptionist tried to do it in the hotel system, but a colleague told here that I had to do it through the app… and on my remark that I did not pay for the first half day: ….oh then maybe you have a ticket…… We had junior suite : 3 persons, so the sofa was a bed. But everything else was equipped for 2 persons only…. (Except the bill ofcourse) There were renovationworks during the stay. Very frustrating and loud…. No warning before, but for us very inconvenient. Gym: small…. Just some equipment squeezed in a small room. The changing rooms are nice though and have a sauna.

I had written to them in booking.com messages, in advance, to provide wine glasses in the room ahead of our stay, but apparently they never saw that message, which was a bit of a pity since it was my boyfriend’s birthday and I had notified them beforehand. Other than the cleaning that was arranged upon our arrival, we didn’t receive any other room service. I ended up picking up glasses and a wine bucket from downstairs myself.

Verified reviewThe hotel is situated right next to Alvik metro station. The green line takes you directly to Gamla Stan. Very practical in that respect. The neighborhood seems safe and calm - so calm in fact that there is very little to do or see around it, especially late at night so keep that in mind if you book in Alvik. But you can definitely make the most of it by taking a short walk along the waterfront and stopping by Poke Burgers for dinner. The hotel is clean and modern, with very comfortable rooms and complimentary facilities (gym, sauna). It’s not just a place to sleep but also to spend leisure time. You can lounge at the bar with a book or have dinner at the restaurant. The copious breakfast buffet was my favorite part ! Very generous spread of sweet and savory options, as well as a few available swaps for dietary restrictions. We took our time sampling a bit of everything. Very helpful and accomodating staff.
Booking and Scandic both indicate the rooms are equipped with ”AC”. However, guests have no control over their own room’s temperature. It can get very hot or cold, depending on external factors. So make sure to bring varied layers for lounging and sleeping. I caught a cold the first night. It’s honestly very disappointing for a 4-star hotel. The hotel’s restaurant is closed on sundays. Not practical for guests when there are so few options nearby. Our stay happened to be on the same weekend as a sports competition, so the hotel was overrun by children. There was quite a bit of chaos and noise. Had we known, we would have picked a different place to stay.
