Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAs I'm approaching my 80s I found it an effort to walk up to the house I stayed in this time.
I like the general location and had stayed before in the house lower down the hill which was excellent The lady in the reception did say I can ask for that house next time.

NorwayBarebones staff. It's nice that everything is quite automated. I understand there not needing to be that many staff there all the time. I don't know.
Perfect for just sleeping and training in the area. Sigtuna is quite cosy.

FinlandKitchen could have been a bit cleaner.
Excellent price quality ratio. Rooms and toilets were clean. There was pool table and ping pong table that our kids loved. Short walk away from the city center. Nothing fancy but excellent for a short visit with possibility to make your own food.

United StatesThe building was confusing and I’m not sure how the layout worked for the kitchen and stuff and the location wasn’t great because it was a decent walk to Sigtuna, but still overall a nice stay
The room was quiet and had a nice bathroom and a fan which I enjoyed

United KingdomHad a great stay in the hostel - great location if you looking for a base to visit Stockholm and the area. The old part of Sigtuna is about 15 minutes walk from hostel where you’ll find a good supermarket. Or there is a more pleasant 20 minute walk into town along the lakeside. Or there are regular buses if you have a lot of shopping :-) Town has a few good cafe and restaurants. We liked the one on the pier by the lake. Great cheap eats with wonderful view. You can swim in the lake, which was great in the evening after a hot day sightseeing - just 5 minutes from hostel. Hostel very clean and kitchen was more what you expect from rented holiday accommodation. It had everything, also sofa etc to relax in. There is pool table and table tennis, which is great if you have kids. Bedrooms a little soulless, but beds comfortable and nice and quiet. We don’t have a car and so completely reliant on public transport and I have to say this is best integrated transport system we have experienced on a holiday for many a year. There is bus stop outside the hostel that goes to the station. You hardly ever have to wait as there is always connections. It was about an hour, door-to-door to get to central Stockholm. Also lots of evening options so didn’t feel like we had to rush back. If you are using public transportation, don’t forget to get the a SL card that covers local buses, trains, metro and even ferry. It’s a bargain and means you don’t have to worry about paying every time you get on the bus. Note this only works on red buses, not the yellow one

FinlandRoom was quit warm and didn't really cool down in the evening. There was also a senior home type of smell in the top floor but you got used to it a little bit.
Kitchen had everything you needed and it was really clean. There was also more than one fridge so there was enough space for everyones food. There is a nice little beach near by to go for a evening swim. The room was clean and spacious. The view was really nice, and the location was not too far from the town but also really quiet.

AustraliaThe absence of staff on the week-end, which was the busiest time, meant garbage bins in the kitchen were over-full (and beginning to smell) and the dishwasher was not turned on. Not all guests wipe down the tables or dispose of their food scraps promptly. Furthermore there was no one to assist regarding the non-working television and the absence of the (promised) haridryer. Information that was provided when collecting the room key might usefully have been provided in advance of arrival, particularly as it pertained to finding the place. The tourist information office in the main street didn't even know the name of the hostel and could not provide accurate information or a map that included the residence. A "22minute walk" when wheeling heavy luggage, trying to find street numbers which are few and far between, easily becomes 45-50 mins.and hot work newcomers could be prepared for.
The hostel had many pleasant communal spaces for sitting and reading, eating, cooking or talking with others, with a well-equipped kitchen and a room with a view of the lake. Friendly residents, and being within walking distance of the shops, many tourist sites and the bus station made for a very pleasant stay. The room was small and basic, but sufficient, clean and opening the windows allowed plenty of fresh air. I was glad to provide my own breakfast and found a wonderful bakery in the charming and interesting village.

SwedenThe beds weren't super comfy, but that's more of a personal thing. We asked for the quietest room, but had a neighbour, even though other parts of the building were empty. Luckily the neighbour was not so loud.
The view from the room was very nice! There is a lot of parking space. We arrived within the allowed check-in hours, but couldn't get in (through my own fault, I had lost the door code), but some students on the campus were kind enough to help us get in.
