Very basic hotel, No elevator (I have a bad knee) The food and drink in the restaurang was Ok, but very expensive for being a small town (fine dining/large city prices)

Only hotell that available in Markaryd. Ok for a night stay

A bit hard to climb all the stairs, would be nice with lift... The stairs were dusty and dirty. Bathroom not clean, old, used shower sachet under the shower curtain...toilet brush not clean, a ring of stale water in the toilet. Downstairs very impressive modern lovely furniture. In the room a bit bedated.

The breakfast and the staff at breakfast was wonderful! Couldn't have wished for more! The check-in was pleasant and swift. Lucky to have a corner room with big windows in two directions. Comfy bed! Good space, extra pillows, excellent! We slept really well.

Wifi only worked properly in main bar area. Price much too high. Breakfast service not as good as previous visit (no croissants, had to ask for more coffee which ran out, cutlery missing, etc). Not enough attention there.

Excellent service from Linn. Room quite nice, light and spacious. Food good.

Public areas grubby particularly the stairs which had not been swept for a while. No hairdryer in room. Restaurant closed for holidays - we were not told in advance and other options in village very limited on Monday evening

Corner bedroom with double aspect windows. Room was clean. Breakfast selection was excellent -Swedish buffet. Quite small town location was just what we wanted after long day travel. Surrounding countryside interesting.

Very basic tiny bathroom, tiny bed... no lift to third floor so wheelchair users watch out!

Nice staff, got some drinks on arrival as the bar shuts at about 21:00...typical rural Sweden of course!

Bed totally awful. Too small, too soft, and silly little pillows that wasn't very clean. Bathroom clean but a bit smelly. Room too hot.

Great food. Nice wine. Friendly staff

hotel could have a lift as room on 3rd floor and had a lot of baggage.

in a town where there isn't much available in the way of restaurants or bars the hotels restaurant provided excellent food and was a pleasant bonus after a hard days work.

Wifi is not so strong in the rooms.

The woman in the reception who is also waitress in the restaurant was really nice and help me with a change of room since the wifi was not strong enough. She was really kind.

The bathroom decor was rather dated and could perhaps be refreshed. But otherwise clean!

Markaryd is a small town, but the hotel is in a great location - within walking distance of two beautiful lakes, a couple of small antique stores, and a few difference convenience stores. The hotel itself is great - the hot-tub and sauna are very clean and relaxing, and the food was excellent. The evening menu was of a very high standard, and the breakfast was delicious and with a great selection. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed there a couple of times already for an overnight stop. If your kids are old enough to sleep in a high bed, the family rooms are just perfect for having a good value-for-price place to sleep. There is free parking and wifi.

Markaryd is were I grown up and I was back for a school re-union after 35 years Lovely and friendly staff, everything was nice and well cared for. But what really made my stay extra pleasant was that I could check out myself, late in the sunday afternoon. And that was very lucky because my train didnt leave before 3 pm
