A great location by the river bank, with easy walking to central Falkenberg. The rooms are well insulated and very silent at night.

Hwitan is a part of the Grand Hotel, 150 meters away. All the staff are at the Grand Hotel. We didn't see any staff at Hwitan. On Saturday night a concert was held in Hwitan's courtyard. We didn't attend and didn't have tickets to the concert. This meant that getting in and out of the hotel was nearly impossible and the concert staff nearly denied us entrance to our room, insinuating that we were trying to break into the concert with many people looking on. It was awkward. The breakfast buffet had little left by the time we got there at 8:30 a.m., and the bread on Sunday felt like yesterday's bread. Hot and cold dishes were all fairly lukewarm. This was oneof the more expensive hotels we've stayed in in Sweden, and the high cost contrasted with how tiny the room was, how poor the beds were (the mattress slides off the bed during the night) and the rather shabby bathroom that hasn't been upgraded for decades. Hooks for bathroom towels would be one welcome improvement.

Old and worn, but charming place. Breakfast had all the things you would expect, and was good. It's served next-door, but the view from the restaurant more than makes up for the short walk.

A lot of staircases, that may be problematic for some people.
