Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IndonesiaOur initial booked room which was the basic standard did get nicely renovated but had a terrible view of the back wall of the neighboring building. The room was quite dark because of it. The walls were also pretty thin as we can hear neighbors quite clearly. We did express our concerns to the front desk and they were gracious in providing a free upgrade to another room with a view. Very gracious service and great housekeeping.

We were given an upgrade by the hotel staff at the front desk and we were more than happy to accept it. Much appreciated after a tiring evening flight! United KingdomHumidity seemed to make the room feel damp, despite the air conditioning. We slept well enough but our clothes needed to be buried out when we got on our cruise ship.
Swimming pool was a great way to finish a busy day of sightseeing. A very short walk away from a bus stop meant getting around the city was easy and so cheap on local transport which is clean, efficient and importantly air conditioned.

United KingdomThe choices at breakfast were fairly limited and the western cooked breakfast was not based on pork products and always involved scrambled egg and only occasionally grilled tomatoes. This made it less flavoursome.
The hotel staff were very accommodating and during out two stays helped us by allowing us to shower on arrival in Singapore even though our rooms were not ready at that point, storing our luggage prior to our flights and gave us advice on possible activities and excursions. The room was spacious and comfortable and the rooftop area around the swimming pool was particularly pleasant.

United KingdomBreakfast buffet was poor, with no egg station, a very poor selection of cut fruit. We had been staying in less prestigious hotels in Vietnam and their breakfast buffets put the Rendezvous Hotel breakfast to shame and was included in the price of the room. We have been using this hotel on and off for over 30 years and standards have slipped.
Room was OK but a little outdated, very clean and had comfortable bed but no walk-in shower just a shower over the bath which is not good if you are over eighty and not as mobile as you used to be. Good location at the end of Orchard Rd where it meets Tanglin.

AustraliaThe safe in the first room on the 5th floor did not work, and the manager replaced it after trying to reset it. The television was an older model, several channels were not working, and the speakers were too fuzzy to hear the content clearly. When I raised this with management on the second evening, the maintenance man promptly visited and noticed the air-conditioning was not working properly as well. This resulted in us being offered another room with a balcony and a view on the 7th floor. As an older hotel, each room has a couple of maintenance issues that seemed to be not fully resolved. One hallway on the 5th floor had leaking water issues that were not resolved, that included interim measures of a bucket on the floor and an area with a tarp taped to the ceiling.
I enjoyed the space in the rooms and the friendly hospitality of the staff. I enjoyed the swimming pool and the gym facilities.
