Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaThe WC is on the first floor and all the other rooms are higher, and the stairs are extremely squeaky, so quite loud during the night, noise isolation also was quite poor. Also doors could be locked, but even then there was a gap through which you could see the staircase. The staircase could use a renovation.
It's a really simple place, but has absolutely everything you need for a night - truly comfortable bed, AC, common kitchen, WC and showers. And the location is great, just a few minutes from the sea and restaurants.

SerbiaIt was very noisy, walls are so thin, you can hear every single voice from other rooms. Bed is not comfortable, it creaks with every movement.
Room was clean, as well as bathroom. Hostel is located in the old town, 2 min from the main square. Host was friendly, he helped us with the check in.

SwitzerlandSince our room was in the attic, the access to our room is a former trapdoor with stairs, resulting in difficult access. There’s basically a big hole in the floor without banisters, not suitable for kids or elderly people. It‘s also not possible to stand up straight, since the ceiling is low and slanted. The bathroom is five stairs (two stories) below the attic, and the floorboards are very creaky. There is no reception, making this „Hostel“ equivalent to an AirBNB.
The place is in the center of Piran, everything is accessible by foot. We were in the attic room and had a beautiful terrace and air conditioning. Kitchen and bathrooms were shared and clean.

SlovakiaThe doors did not close shut completely, so in the evening the light from the hallway could be seen. Because of this the door didn’t cancel out the noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway.
The location was nice, closer to the outer part of the town. The bathrooms were also very nice for a hostel.

GermanyThe room has a door a bit trick to close, but it closes completely so it was fine. And also the stairs are old and make noises when people are going up or down.
Location is great, close to the center square and beach. The staff was super nice and opened the door to us a bit earlier than our check in time to leave our bags. And the whole place is very clean, bathroom was super clean!

The host was very nice and accommodating, the hostel had a touch of authenticity. Easily accessible, from the parking lot uphill. Would stay again!

United KingdomI stayed for over a week and my linens were never changed. With all the sweating and summer grit, that bed was straight up nasty by the time I left. But let's be honest, if you're staying here, you're not inviting people over and you're not the type to go out in delicate silks. You're here to stay out all day, swim in the Adriatic, party in the city, and come back just to pass out and do it all over again.
I was on the top floor, which is one room plus a balcony. I wouldn't want to stay in any of the other rooms. Without air conditioning, the only way I could sleeping comfortably in the summer was with the balcony doors and windows open and the upright fan on. These two things made hanging out quite comfortable. The private balcony was superb. I wouldn't bring kids here, though. This isn't very kid friendly. Mostly for adults.

United KingdomAs a couple travelling around Europe this was a very expensive stay for very little. All the bathrooms are on the ground floor. Be warned the walls are stupid thin and the stairs are very creaky so expect to be woken up and disturbed by neighbours. There is also very limited warm water so you have to fight the other residents for a shower. We essentially had no warm water for the first two days. The bedrooms would benefit from a mirror and private sink. We also had the issue of being unable to lock our bedroom door from within because of old hinges. We only managed by placing a padlock over the door latch from inside. Not excellent for safety or security.
Despite bad first impressions the stay was fairly nice, albeit basic. The location is the main benefit, being 3 mins from the waterfront. The kitchen was well equipped and the room had great air-con. Piran itself is stunning.

DenmarkMy stay at hostel Piran was okay. I mean it was clean and okay facilities, so for the money it was okay. The shared bathroom though was a big problem. I was filmed while taking a shower and when I contacted the person in charge he said I would get some of the money back but I haven’t heard from them since… so yes overall it was okay but pretty uncomfortable after that.

SwedenI did not like this place because of many reasons. To start you could not lock the door from the inside while you slept. I am a big strong man but if I had been a young woman for exemple. It had felt very unsafe. The Windows were also open in the public areas like the kitchen and the main hall on second and third floor, and it felt dangerous because i have small children. The manager was also not very helpful when I said I wanted the windows closed because of child safety. It was also extremly hard too sleep because you hear everything in the house and the stairs squeek very much. So when people went to the toilet in the middle of the night you wake up (if you are not a very hard sleeper).. So for me a big nono (especially if you have young children ).. This is my first negative review on booking (I have many positive ones) before.
Good wifi.
