Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. After the reservation they wrote me message that due to a water leak they have to change our room to a different hotel (few minutes away in Podkoren - the Vintranc boutique hotel). According to the reviews, it is not the first time they did it and it seems they offer you the change to this Vintranc hotel when they have overbooking (not a water leak). We agreed to change it, but honestly the new hotel looked betrer on the website. It is quite old, looks like in Transylvania :)) But it was okayish, the staff was nice. Only the breakfest wasn't like promised in the original hotel - it was served, it took 30 minutes to get the breakfast (we had to order it and wait) and it was quite small and not so good. But overall quiet ok. Honestly next time I would refuse the change and find something different.
I evaluate hotel Vintranc instead of Šurc, because they changed our room to a different hotel. Clean and comfortable, but quite a small room. Parking in front of the building, nice staff.

It's a pity that room had no view. It was also a surprise that on our first day of stay at the beginning of July 2025 all restaurants in the village were closed. Luckily, hotel Šurc opened the next day.
It's all about people. Everyone person working in hotel Šurc we met was genuinely kind and helpful. We felt truly welcome. The room was nicely appointed. It was obvious that toilet and shower are new. For bicycle rides hotel is located just next to several beautiful routes.

Stuff was very kind and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Rateče is a small village with villagers living their life. If you like morning rooster waking you up and cows on the roads, thats the place for you. Not crowded like Krajnska Gora.

Breakfast is really nice, surroundings beautiful, staff is extremely nice and friendly. Dogs are welcome indeed, this is a huge extra point!!

Wanted to check out early, was told couldn't check out before 7am

However the windows had a concrete wall in front of it although it was advertised as room with view into the garden. That made the room a bit gloomy.
The room was very nice and clean. The food was very good. The host staff was very friendly.

The view from the room wasn't "Garden view" at all. It was some kind of a concrete slab. So if they give you key number 4, ask for another! The bathroom wasn't like the one from the pictures.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the food in the restaurant was very delicious.

Tuesday was close, so we didn't find the safe place (garage) for the bicycles. We put the bicycles in the car during the night.
Jasmina the waitress was amazing. Thank you so much. The breakfast was really great.

Room could get very hot, air conditioning would help but wouldn't be an issue majority of the time, we just got lucky with the weather !
Cosy little room, breakfast included and a good restaurant/pub downstairs. Staff are very friendly and went above and beyond for us after we left belongings behind
