Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalawiRestaurant closes early (6PM) but the staff is accommodating and can close a little later. There are also other options for a later dinner nearby.
I love how rustic it was! Our room had a nice patio, where I enjoyed doing yoga, with a bonus small private pool. This place is in the middle of the forest. It's so peaceful you can hear the vivid symphonic sounds of the forest at night. I slept like a baby. In the morning you are awakened by local birdsongs. If you are looking for a peaceful time and an opportunity to unglue from screens you will absolutely love this place. However, if you can't survive without a TV or WiFi this may not be the place for you. WiFi is available but the storm and lightning the night before damaged the satellite dish and it wasn't working when we stayed there. I would absolutely stay here again.

GuatemalaThe rooms are built right next to each other with a thin wood wall between them so there's no sound isolation at all, that's a problem if you have noisy room neighbors. There was a problem with the hot water at the hotel so we had to shower with cold water.
The location is excellent, very close to the Cerro Verde National Park and with a great view from the restaurant to Lake Coatepeque. The included breakfast is amazing and the staff is very attentive. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious.

United StatesWhen others say the walls are thin…they are not exaggerating. You can see lights in the gaps in the wood to the next room (up towards the ceiling). You can hear everything.
Very friendly staff. Beautiful views. Good large breakfast. If you don’t have a car: They arranged a guide and transport to climb Santa Ana ($35 for family of 4, $15 transport to the trailhead) - then in the same day we added on $15 to take us up to Cerro Verde and eat lunch do the 45 min forest trail. Another day, for $50 we went to the lake, ate lunch and took a boat trip. They also arranged airport transport.

United StatesThe room needs more light, more electrical outlets, more surfaces on which to place your belongings, towel hooks in the bathroom, and a bath mat. There was only one chair on the back terrace, and the exterior light for the terrace did not work.
Good breakfast. Great location near Cerro Verde National Park and overlooking the lake. Bed was very comfortable.

United StatesThis is a very rustic place. It is basically a wooden cabin with very limited furniture. You are in the jungle so you do have bugs and moths. It did not bother us though. We did not have hot water and water pressure was very low. We ended up not taking showers even though we really needed one (after hiking the Volcano). This location is overprice for what it has to offer. We came with a pick up truck so we had no issues in the parkway. However, a standard sedan would probably struggle there and I would recommend parking such a car on the street.
The location is amazing. You take your breakfast with a stunning view of Lago Coatepeque and the hotel is a few miles away for the Santa Ana Park entrance. The staff was very flexible and they let us hike the Volcano before check out. They also accepted a discount because we did not have hot water.

SlovakiaWell, there are rats, especially noisy during night, running on the roof, in the walls and sadly also in the rooms. I simply couldn't sleep seeing one above bathroom at first and then hearing them all night.

CanadaThere were a lack of hooks in the bathroom to hang any towel or bathroom kit. The room and bathroom were a little dark. Nothing to really fuss about.
I liked the location: the proximity to Cerro Verde National Park, the view from the restaurant, and the fact that the rooms were in a wooded area not too close to the road. The cost was fair, the rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was nice, breakfast was good.
