Far too high a room rate! Not worth it!

The room rate is far too high at 35,600 Thai Baht (about US$1,150) per night. An activity like a spa massage, a tour of the golden triangle, an elephant activity or a cooking course - is tied to the room rate and is forced on you. Bad practice.

The hotel is perfect! Except for the way they treat Elephants there. Rooms and bathroom really good, views are spectacular. We did Golden Triangle excursion was really nice, spa is delicious, and the Elephants program. I went with my daughter in an elephant Mahout program in Chiang Mai where elephants were free, loved, acting normal and were not hurt, but in Anatara Golden Triangle this program was completely different, elephants are not loved there, is just for tourists to see, the Mahout hurt our elephant during the Mahout program with a sharped metal hook because the animal wanted to eat, or to not walk fast, or to stop a while, and probably hurt many times. Completely unnecessary, elephants got super angry and sad! They keep elephant chained! It is really sad, to see babies trying to walk a little and that chain fixed in his leg, and we didn't see water for them. Sad to see an entire forest there for them and they chained. They could build a fence and treat animals better training with food and not with a sharp metal hook. We did Dinning by Design at Baby elephant camp and the dinner was perfect! But Elephants came for 15 min photos, again an horrible experience with those babies, you won't see they playing, sleeping or whatever, you will see they with Mahout and their stick staying there only for photos. We talked with manager and he told us they will be better and correct it, but I still don't recommend any elephant program at Anatara Golden Triangle. Overall this hotel does not even need Elephants there, the hotel itself is absolutely amazing!

The hotel is perfect! Bedroom and bathroom really good. Views are amazing! Food really good. All inclusive with many good options. Staff really good!

We would like to thank everyone in Anantara for a wonderful wonderful stay! It was our first stay in northern Thailand during our honeymoon and we couldn't have been looked after better! Staff made us feel like home, food was wonderful, activities very well planned, accommodation definitely 5*. Everyone made us feel special and it felt that actually everyone genuinely cared that we have a good time. It is pricey to stay in Anantara Golden Triangle but absolutely worth it! Access to elephants while in nature made it even more so special - we learned so much about them and Thailand. Many thanks to hotel's manager Christian for looking after us!
