Huge room. Great location with garden. Manager spoke English and was very helpful and made suggestions on things to do and see and restaurants to try, which really helped us to make the most of our 6 days in Chiang Rai. Service was great. Breakfast was healthy - not exciting but just fine.

The toilet smelled really bad, I know it's a problem in the zone, but you should do something about it, it is a big contrast with the rest of the hotel and room

    Nil.

Excellent location, centraly located, quiet place, very kind and welcoming owners, very good room size, comfy bed, clean towels, very good wifi, buffet breakfast is a plus and limited parking for cars although parking in the street is safe. Value for the money.

    Absolutely nothing

This may have been a B&B. But it could have been a 3/4 star. I have stayed in many places in Thailand. From 2 to 5 star. Baan Jaru would be way up there. Although far better value for money. And as for Toddy he couldn't have been any more helpful, great guy. And the staff were lovely.

    No negatives.

Amazing reception and recommendations! The place is extremely stylish, well decorated, and aesthetically pleasing. Things looked very well thought out in design. We were only booked for two nights but could have easily stayed longer thanks to the kind gentleman at reception. Breakfast was very good too. I think they could easily charge 50% more. Super value.

    Everything was great.

Location was great - 5 mins from the bus terminal and the old clock tower so super easy to get around. Room was large and bed was comfy. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were really friendly and helpful on what to do and how to get around town. Breakfast was great - coffee / tea, juice, eggs, toast and fruit. Really good value for money and would definitely recommend a stay here.

    Nothing.

I loved everything about Baan Jaru. It's traveller-friendly in everything it does, from annotating a local map for you when you arrive to offering free water refills and coffee throughout the day. Rooms are large, quiet, comfortable and well appointed and there's a shady little breakfast terrace. The location is central and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

No hot water in the sink. Shower difficult to manipulate to get a hot shower. Very hard pillows. Eggs are always served with chicken in a sauce. Thick white bread toast.

It is a small family hotel very near Wat Jed Yot. We had stayed in the area some 20 years ago and this hotel is new to the area which is now all very built up. There is a very good restaurant Barro near by (indicated on the hotel map) which though somewhat expensive is a good experience and very good food. There was (as with all Thai hotels) no hot water in the sink. The shower was difficult to regulate and there were no instructions for the fiddly tap. Other travellers also complained about the lack of hot water in the shower but they had not learnt the secret of just turning on the cold inflow tap a little ! There is a clothes line at the back of the hotel where you could hang any washing you did. There are at least three laundry places nearby which we did not discover until much later. Nice green garden. It would be helpful if they banned smoking in keeping with the hotel's "green' ethos. The staff do not speak much English and find it difficult to manage the most simple breakfast order. Eggs are always served with chicken in a sauce. The Cat n a Cup Cafe is close by as is the Akha restaurant which makes very good coffee.
