Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Statesnot really an issue, but it's a bit far from town. Can be a bit troublesome if you eat too much spicy papaya and have to run back to use the bathroom. As noted in an earlier review, the bridge to town is open again, so it's a lot faster than it used to be, apparently.
Really peaceful property overlooking the Mun river. Loved just sitting on the balcony in the afternoons and evenings having a beer. Phimai is a very lovely town. The staff are very welcoming, and Christian even drove us to catch the bus north to Kohn Kaen for free. Laundry was 100 baht, breakfast same, and bicycles were free (though we didn't take them and opted to walk).

United StatesDelightful budget resort on the banks of Northeast Thailand's Mun River (hence the name Moon River). Proprietors Christian and Chin welcomed us and advised on attractions, restaurants, local happenings. Our room was clean with a view on the river, the mattress comfortable, the wading birds of the river within range of our camera's long lens. A bridge that puts Phimai temple within a 15-20 minute walk was closed for renovation when we were there, so Christian kindly drove us. Bicycles were also available for free. We enjoyed our time and would gladly go back.

CyprusThe serenity of the property and the view of the river/lake are wonderful. I could have stayed there longer, just to relax. For the price, the room and view-platforms exceeded my expectations. When the road works end the location will be fantastic.

AustriaUnfortunately no dining option very close, but one good local restaurant is about 10 min by foot. Some loud birds woke my husband at night.
Loved the place, so peaceful with river view and its garden. The owner gave us good tips to discover Phimai, notably the banyan tree. It was great to have bikes provided

Friendly personalized attention by the owner. Nice place and gardens. It was great to have the free use of a bicycle during my stay to go and explore the historical park and town. Thank you so much.!

GermanyWHAT I DIDN'T GET: Cupboard to hide my stuff (instead, shelves and hangers); kettle; bowls, plates and cutlery to eat street food or food deliveries around the bungalow, on the delightful river terrace for instance; hammock on private terrace or riverside terrace near me (note, I didn't ask the lodge for any of the items mentioned above, they might be able to provide some) With the nearby highway bridge now temporarily closed even for pedestrians, the travel distance to agreeable downtown Phimai is not 1 km, but 3.5 kms (Dec 2024). I traveled that route twice or thrice daily with my bicycle, also at night. It always felt safe and smooth (street dogs lazy 24/7), but it's seriously dull and lonely; I'd carry a light whether walking or cycling. (The lodge can point out nearby restaurants in easy walking distance on their side of the river.)
– eerily quiet (perhaps partly due to temporarily closed highway bridge nearby, but also because of slightly isolated location, and the river has no motor boats) – undamaged and easy to use mosquito screens plus the quietness allowed for sleeping with open windows in the delicious December cool, so nice (as always anywhere, inconsiderate guests can ruin the idyll) – bungalow # 3 useful and pleasant, but not overdone with decoration I barely notice anyway when touring all day; small lights and power plugs next to bed; clean and newish – phantastic communal riverside terrace with many cool stone and wood benches and tables (few and tiny mosquitoes in early December) – lots of tall, atmospheric shady trees (most other Asian resorts whack down all trees and replace them with dull lawns and geometrical flower beds) – wi-fi, hot shower and air condition work well – bungalow # 3 with small, but useful private terrace with two decent chairs, wooden bench and table, yet no power outlet – bungalow # 3 with small couch, small desk and even a small rotating rolling office chair – bathroom with some daylight and natural aeration; also with two splash-protected power plugs next to mirror and sink – breakfast not included in the price, but available optionally - the way it should be everywhere – friendly and personalized service by boss, gardener and housekeeper, among other things helping me to receive delayed mail orders and change to a better suiting bungalow after having booked and paid another category – swift laundry service

NetherlandsRoom + bathroom was a little outdated.
Location was beautifull in a garden alongside a small lake, but still close to the city (it was also possible to lend a bike which made it even more convenient!). The bungalow had a lot of room, was clean + airco worked good, also a nice quit area to have a good night rest.

AustraliaThe nearby bridge is out of action for a considerable time which is a shame as it would reduce the trip to the National Museum to a 5 minute stroll. Of course, road construction is outside the control of businesses. No
Lovely location which has been maximised by the owners to the benefit of customers. Excellent car parking, well sized bungalows, courtesy pushbikes if wanted and competitively priced. We have every intention of revisiting as the resort and Phimai has alot to offer for those interested in Thai history. An excellent restaurant a short bikeride away. Additionally, Chris has put a significant effort into some "mood lighting" which enhances the outdoors area at night time.

ThailandThe shower pressure, though good, the shower head gave out a needle- size spray of water. This could be a bit irritating.
Wish we could have stayed more than one night. This place, I feel, is, if not the best, is one of a rare gems in Phimai. The place is very clean. The veranda is great to have a nice cup of coffee and watch the river Moon. The historical park is quite close by. The owners are super friendly.

Czech RepublicThe place is amazing. Bungalows are surrounded by nature and they have balconies. Owners are super nice and you can speak with them in english, which is a big advatage here. We recommend you to stay here for more than one night, so you can enjoy the nature. You can borrow bikes (I think they are free).

JapanNot the fault of the resort management, but construction work on refurbishing a bridge close to the property means that getting to the town itself involves a 2-3km detour - for the time being. Property has bicycles to borrow; I enjoy cycling so this wasn’t an issue for me (and the town, a couple of main roads aside perhaps, is perfect for cycling around) but might be for some.
Visiting in the off season I found the location to be ideal; very tranquil, the sound of nature to the fore come the early evening. Perfect place to unwind. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Hope to revisit at some point.
