How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Breakfast can be a little better. But that’s why you are in a homestay

Verified reviewIn the middle of Doi Inthanon National Park. Which was a surpise to us, we thought we would still need to drive into the NP. Small village with very kind people in the middle of pure Nature and Rice fields. What an experience! The cabin was basic but very comfortable with good beds. Bit the best was the veranda: overlooking the valley and the rice fields. All birds and butterflies around. Breakfast simple but good. Als the evening diners. And for a pizza to Mr Dee, up the road is recommended! All really nice people too!
Nothing!

Verified reviewThe views were amazing, the food was nice and the staff were very helpful arranging tours and lifts for us. Really for this place you go for the views and the air. It was much cooler than the rest of Thailand so we didn't miss the lack of AC and the open window and fans were fine. We even had less mosquitos there than in other parts of Thailand. The rain was brilliant to experience.
There were mosquitos at night but the nets were fine. The shower was quite basic, but fine.

Verified reviewThe owner ! The view, the breakfast, pretty much everything. It's not new and it's not perfect but every small fault is compensated for by either the warmth of the staff, the view or the rabbits running around just outside. A definite definite recommendation for anyone who likes nature, views and reasonably priced good food.
Nothing much

Verified reviewThe hotel is in the mountains above the rice fields with stunning views. The rooms had massive glass windows to wake up with beautiful colors and it was so relaxing falling asleep with the sounds of nature. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We tried almost everything in the menu and wow, everything was so delicious and tasty. There is a great 6K loop around the hotel with steep sections for a morning run/walk. We also rented a scooter to go waterfall hoping.
The were doing some constructions during our stay and it was pretty loud while eating but it didn’t affect our experience. Would completely go back for another retreat out of the city.

Verified reviewAmazing place, food and staff. Only recommended if you plan to rent a car. The area is quiet and nice for rest and be around nature
The shower and toilet can switch and a bird hits our big windows so maybe put something to help birds don't hit :) far from that everything was great

Verified reviewOur stay was amazing. Big room, excellent view. The nature around is amazing and it’s really easy to go around the National Park. We rented a scooter at the homestay and it was really good. The best part was the staff, they pick and drop us off, helped us to know where to go, always really nice. We will come back!

Verified reviewWe are a family of five and had three rooms, all in different parts of the grounds. All were top class. The host also cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast for us. The rooms overlook the most beautiful valley of rice paddies below with a backdrop of mountains around. It is worth the time to walk down the main road about 500m and take a track that leads into the rice paddy fields.
There is nothing I did not like. There was no AC but the valley is temperate and not too hot and we slept very comfortable.

A little bit off the main road but not that difficult to reach.

Verified reviewSpacious rooms. Beautiful View. Lovely Staff.
It was lovely, but it could be a tad cleaner. There were lots of bugs in the room, the bedding, and even a crab joined us in the bathroom.

Verified reviewIt was an enjoyable stay at Motho Homestay. The room was simple but comfortable with all necessary equipment. We appreciated the view from the balcony. The restaurant was also very good with a rice terrace view really impressive. We also rent a good scooter to easily explore the national park.
We were a bit disappointed by the lack of welcome when we arrived, especially considering we had chosen a homestay for a more personal experience
