How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe beach right next to the bungalow, the quiet, the low price
The place haven’t been cleaned in a while, there was still trash from previous occupants. The bungalow shakes with the neighbor’s walk, a piece of wall fell on the ground. The fan was all rusty and very dirty. The towels doesn’t dry well. But what I really disliked is the attitude of the lady in charge. I had lunch there when I arrived. Asked for a massaman curry without sugar. Asked if the rice was included for which they said yes. Had a two fruits shake and asked to fill up my water bottle as I don’t consume plastic bottles. At the end, the massaman was too sweet, she charge me +30 for the rice, +20 for the second fruit, and +10 for the water refill. I would have preferred a heads up for the extra costs. Because of this attitude, I rent my scooter elsewhere and had all my meals outside. Because of trying to grab as much as she could, she ended up loosing a customer 🤗

Verified reviewThere is a wonderful view of the sea at sunset, you are immersed in the jungle and there are two ladies, one of whom is also very nice and kind, who take care of everything, prepare good dishes, find you taxis and scooters. Overall it is an extremely wild and magical place.
If you like a wild place, if you are not afraid of a dangerous stilt house, if you are not afraid of big and small geckos in the room, of mice rummaging around everywhere, of other small animals of various kinds, then the place is fantastic.

Verified reviewLovely ladies running this place who helped my with all my questions. Also motorbike rental is possible from them which comes handy as the place is quite far from anything else. The view from the room is amazing, and you can enjoy the sunset from a hammock.
The bed was okay, and I prepared myself for the ants as well based on other reviews, so I hanged my snacks on a nail, but they could still find it. And the rats find one forgotten candy I had in my backpack, so they eat their way in as well. So if you're prepared for these, then your still should be all good.

Verified reviewThis has been one of the best places I've stayed in for...the peaceful location, the animals, the staff, the other guests, the superb food and coffee, the social common area and the laid back vibe. It's proper old school Thailand. Very easy to rent a scooter from there, which I'd really recommend to explore the island. The roads are in good condition and nearly all flat.
The bed, despite being a couple of mattresses was pretty comfortable so no problem there. I think the issue for me, is the very thin dividing wall, so it does affect privacy and maybe not so great for a light sleeper like me. However, by my last night I had got used to it. That's the only negative I could possibly come up with, though. It's a great place and I will return.

Verified reviewLovely owner, see view
It requires a lot of maintenance and a thorough cleaning. Also, I’d recommend not bringing any food into the room. I accidentally left a piece of chocolate in my closed bum bag, and by morning, I found my bag torn open with the chocolate partially eaten.

Verified reviewThe incredibly friendly staff, lovely restaurant, and the ocean just a few metres from the bungalow door were the highlights of my stay. Every meal is like a home cooked meal, and great vegetarian options. You feel so at home with them. There are lovely hammocks to lie in and look at the sea. The island is small so easy to walk around and very green.
The bungalow itself is not very uncomfortable. The bed doesn’t have a full set of bedding, only bottom sheet and pillows. No other sheets, just a fluffy blanket which is too hot. The walls are very thin so you can hear the neighbours talking, and the whole room shakes when someone next door walks. There are lots of animals and bugs living in the walls that make a noise while you sleep. Feels more like camping. Some beach chairs would be nice so you can sit in the sun.

Verified reviewI LOVED this place. Value for money is very good. Don’t expect luxury. It’s simple but lovely. The view is great. Had a good breakfast. And the owner is simply so friendly and loving.
Water pressure in my room wasn’t great. But that’s probably because the water has to be pumped up because the rooms are all built on poles.
