How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe hotel was absolutely amazing. We were welcomed warmly, and every member of the staff was extremely helpful and genuinely cared about our stay. It truly made the whole experience unforgettable. The rooms were super clean, and the whole hotel area was very well maintained. The hotel’s restaurant, Pearl Lounge, was also excellent. In our opinion, all the drinks were the best on the island. The owner was fun and absolutely lovely. We will definately come back!
We loved everything!

Verified reviewWe really liked the resort overall and the location. We had villa 6 right on the beach for 4 people. The rooms are excellent and equipped with a large bathroom. On one side of the beach, there's a small fishing harbor and something like a workshop. It's not that great. However, there's a jetty that leads to the small island. There's an outdoor gym and a massage pavilion – great. For swimming, you should walk 15-20 minutes toward Lamai. Everything is beautiful there. We really liked the small restaurant in the resort. The owners are exemplary in their commitment to sustainability. The staff were always friendly and accommodating and took care of all our needs.

Verified reviewThe pool was very nice, comfortable bed, friendly staff
The outdoor curtains were problematic when windy and don’t really work. A lot of mosquitoes outside and in the bathroom. Although beachfront the beach was not nice and could not swim but a 20 minute walk along the beach the water was beautiful.

Verified reviewWe stayed for 5 nights at the Pearl of Samui Resort and were very sad that we had to leave so soon! The bungalows are very cute. Each bungalow has a terras/veranda with lounge chairs. In the morning when the sun is shining the staff closes the white curtains around the terraces which gives shade to the rooms and gives a real island vibe. The room is cleaned daily and is very modern. The bed is compared to other locations in Thailand very soft and comfortable. The airconditioning works very well! There is good quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. The resort provides fresh beach and pool towels daily. There's a minibar in the room with decently priced drinks and snacks. The facilities are great. There's plenty of space around the pool to lounge with a beautiful view of the beach. The pool is exceptionally clean and we enjoyed swimming each day. The pier on the beach has a great massage tent. The beach is cleaned daily. The resort is next to a 5-star resort which is exceptionally convenient because there are crossing guards to help cross the busy road! There's a 7-11 across the road that we also frequented. The staff was super friendly and spoke good English. We were sad to leave them. The restaurant/lounge has delicious food that is decently priced. They arranged a taxi transfer to pick us up which was decently priced. We were super satisfied with our stay at the Pearl of Samui! If you're looking for a well kept, relaxing location this is the place for you!

Verified reviewAbsolutely beautiful and immaculately kept — the whole resort feels fresh, modern, and luxurious. Everything is spotless, well-maintained, and has a brand-new, upscale look and feel. A truly elegant and relaxing environment. The restaurant serves a really good breakfast, and all the other dishes are tasty and delicious. Prices are really good — in fact, cheaper compared to many other places — making it excellent value for the quality!
A few small downsides: we noticed some ants in the room when rubbish was left in the bin, but the staff were quick, helpful, and efficient in cleaning up. The rooms are quite tight with very limited storage space. The biggest drawback is the location — there’s no swimming beach directly in front of the resort, and you have to walk quite a distance to find clear water, as the gulf area nearby often has plants and debris from harbour.

Verified reviewThe facilities were nice and right by the beach with a decent pool. The staff were friendly and gave recommendations.
The room we were in was right by main road which as you could imagine was busy and noisy day and night.

Verified reviewThe owners did an amazing job creating an inviting environment where guests can come together to share travel stories and enjoy one another's company. Whilst you cannot swim in the ocean in front of the property, Lamai beach is just 10 minutes down the beach. The room is clean, the water pressure is good for the showers and there are happy hour drinks. The best thing about our experience was meeting Cat, the female owner, who is this dynamic and warm person who loves a chat! Her story of starting this wonderful place was also very inspiring.
Nothing.

Verified reviewWe are a family of 4 and after Railay and before heading to Koh Tao we have spent 3 nights in this beautiful place in Samui. Beautiful lovely cottages in front of the North Side of Lamai Beach. This side is not the best part of Lamai but you can reach center and south side very easily by a 5 minutes drive or 15-30 minutes walking (depending on what part of Lamai beach you want to stay) As we have extended our stay, we had the chance to be moved to the beautiful family villa facing the sea. We have enjoyed the nice and clean pool after spending full days at the beach Just 10-15 minutes walking to Lamai center and night market. Despite being close to the main road, rooms were very quiet at night and we could not hear any noise. We have received a very warm welcome from the host that also gave us some clues on the island. Everything is like the pictures. Pearl of Samui IS a PEARL and we would definetely come back here if we’ll visit Samui again. Fabio&Irene

Verified reviewIn overal, everything was great. Just few minor issues. Room is not really spacious, bad smells were coming from the bathroom sometimes. And the beach by the hotel is not really for swiming or relaxing. But still, very nice place to stay. Lamai night market is just 15 mins away to go by feet.
