Very noisy from the hotel guests, we requested the room that faces oposite of the road but the window has not view, it has a wall in front, so is a bit overwhelming and claustrophobic. From 6am you can hear a lot of people from the hotel making noise, so I didn’t have a good quality sleep. The rooms with “views” are in front of the road and is very noisy. I slept the previous night in barbados terrace and it was way better

I stayed in room number 3, really clean but there’s a wall just in front of the window so the room is quite dark. bathroom quite small. They have different accomodations much better than that one so you can ask for others:)

It was very noisy because there was a festival nearby. The light switch is not close to the bed, the TV and internet are not very good (you can't watch netflix for example), and on the last night we found a cockroach in the bathroom. Also, the bathroom window doesn’t close properly, so mosquitoes come in

To really enjoy this beautiful island I would probably go for one of the resorts closer to the main beach on the south east side of the island. It is a little sad when there is absolutely no view whatsover (window facing another building 1 meter away). Not sure about the other rooms though, perhaps they were better. Make sure to ask before booking and (if possible). The hotel does not offer anything else than the room/s. No lobby or outdoor patio to hang around in. There was a restaurant, but, with hundreds of other options nearby we did not try it. Quite bit of traffic passing the hotel due to its proximity of the port. 8,3 rating on booking... hmm... maybe not. There is nothing wrong with the room itself, it is clean, but the overall experience I would not rate it that high. And, on a side note, which has nothing to with the this pearticular hotel; at the time of writing this (March 2025), there are no ATMs on the entire island, so make sure to bring plenty cash. Some restaurants accept credit cards, but all of them charge 2-5% extra.

If you are looking for a bed in a room, and basically nothing more than that, and are on a budget, this could be for you. Located near the entry port/harbour of the island, which was conveniant. Walking distance to ferries and 7-Eleven, and a hundred other shops. At the beginning of the "main street" with some of all the restaurants and shops. Comfortable bed (a bit hard for my personal taste, but wife liked it) Good AC Good pressure and warm water in the shower Plenty closet space. Friendly staff And cheaper prices than the majority of the hotels, but, obviously you get what you pay for.

The room, the smells.

The sink was blocked. The room smelled because of that. The area very noisy and smelly. The staff friendly but hard to find. The photos in Booking.com are very misleading. Our room looked nothing like that.

The rooms are huge, cleaned every 2 days, clean towels every day and water. The staff is professional but welcoming and friendly. The restaurant downstairs offers a wide variety of well cooked food, excellent quality. The owner is a paddle board champion, if you want to have an unforgettable sunset experience ask Tony or Lek. We had a great time at Samed Big Tree, Tony's family has a contagious energy that floods your day with positivity, enriching your holiday. I really recommend to everyone if you are in Koh Samet, stay at Samed Big Tree.

Great accommodation in the heart of Koh Samet. Rooms a spacious, clean, comfy and bright. We felt very well. The staff was super friendly. The location is great. Just two minutes walk from the pier. So Jutta don't need a Taxi. 7eleven, Shops and Restaurants within walking distance and also a 10 Minute walk to the beautiful beach. We highly recommend Samed Big Tree and would come back again.
