The pillows were too hard and too small.

The room was vry spacious, all necessary facilities were there and worked well. Good TV network. Room was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was served at the new wing and it was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Can only recommend the Empress. I was very positively surprised since I chose this hotel last minute randomly.

The breakfast was dry disappointing compared to other hotels and very little choice for vegetarians and items were not labelled . We struggled with breakfast and we wished we had opted to eat out instead of paying for it. The hotel should consider more vegetarian options for sure.

The staff at the reception desk were just wonderful Amazing service by oyo she was so gracious, kind and soooo lovely and welcoming . We were just amazed by her genuine nature.

The only downside to our stay was that our air conditioning unit was broken, however Aoy immediately moved us to an upgraded room to solve the problem.

The hotel was well located, walking distance from amenities. There was a good selection at the breakfast buffet and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The highlight of our stay however, was the wonderful staff member Aoy at the front desk. Aoy greeted us everyday and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from providing us a gift bag of snacks upon arrival and even sourcing us a box and arranging a free lift to the post office for us. Aoy made our stay a pleasure.

A shower instead of a bath could have been easier for us

Coffee at breakfast could be better

I'd say the restaurant and bar could expand their options, but what they have is good. Also, and this is a regional difference, there is no attempt to conserve/recycle plastic in South East Asia.

What an amazing hotel, I could write all day after staying here for over a week. Empress is beautifully designed, immaculately maintained and with a lovely staff. The breakfast is solid with some American and Asian choices to satisfy everyone. The restaurant has limited choices but the food is good for a hotel. There is a lot of shopping and eating around the hotel but it's a taxi ride to visit the old city. It's definitely a pricier place for Chiang Mai but the luxury is worth it.

Convenient place to stay. Lady at the travel desk was welcoming. Front office staff were always greeted with big smiles and came forward for all our needs. Best part was the big welcome gift containing a box of chocolates, chips, biscuits, juices and what not. This was the wonderful part of the checkin.

Hotel room staff sometimes seemed overly busy and under pressure. Hotel could benefit from improved coffee shop and other in-house services.

Property was clean and well presented. Nice pool and pool bar, and comfortable beds. Admin staff were very helpful. Property is within strolling distance of major attractions such is the night market (and short tuk-tuk ride to the old city) and lots of decent local places to eat

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and it was amazing! !The staff were extremely nice.. they made sure we have the most comfortable and amazing stay we can have.. any request we had adressed very fast..we had 2 rooms with connecting door which was fabulous for our 2 adults + 3 kids family.. breakfast was very good.. less than 10 min walk from the night market and many local good resturanrs nearby..I would very recommend this hotel for a family holiday!!

Its a little far away from the turistic zone of the city if you want to walk there, but totally reachable by taxi.

Everything was excellent, very clean and everyone was kind to us. Great buffet on breakfast.
