Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe dinner and hammam are in a different hotel that has probably the same owners. It is not a big issue, but especially hammam it was not so nice crossing the medina streets with wet hair. But the distance is really short. My complain is that for the high price the hotel is charging, this information should be provided during the booking. The dinner was also tasty.
The room and the hotel are beautiful, stuff nice. Even before the travel, email communication in English was easy.

- pool - characteristic room - availability to have lunch and dinner in Dar Tozeur - friendly staff - 24/7 security at main door - location

SwitzerlandThe swimming pool was out of order, some renovation is needed for the whole place, no Wifi in my room and a lot of lights both inside and outside not working. Too expensive for what it was.
It was a romantic and quiet place. The room was nicely furnished, the breakfast was good and the staff were lovely.

AustraliaWe were moved to Dar Tozeur owing to renovations. We were so impressed with every aspect of our stay. This truly is an oasis with an oasis. We cannot fault any part of our stay. Staff were kind and attentive and communication warm and friendly. We have no hesitation in giving the highest recommendation to this establishment.

United StatesThe shower was broken and after we pointed it out, they came to look and still did not fix it. The water pressure is awful. Also, the property is very difficult to find as it has no signage. We ran out of toilet paper and the only remaining roll which we got from housekeeping, had brown water stains on it. During the day, it is incredibly loud in the room because of the other guests. The front staff does not speak English so we relied on Google translate to communicate. There was still a misunderstanding and when we booked a taxi, we thought we had confirmed 14 dinar and when it came time, the front desk lady stated it was 40 dinar. We ended up leaving and finding a taxi in the street for 10 dinar.
The greenery and pool is lovely.

NetherlandsNothing we didn’t like.
It was a fairytale, 1001 nights. Absolutely loved everything. Even more beautiful than the pictures tell you. We had suite “electra” and we highly recommend that one. Amazing. And the staff was the bomb, especially the ladies from the housekeeping. Love them. Swimming pool was extraordinary. We could have stayed here forever.

United StatesBathroom - broken shower head and no pressure and bad lighting No reception - there is an old men opening the door but no one on site at all time that you can speak to. No generator Problem when there was a general blackout and someone came after one hour with candle This hotel accept kids in contrast to their sister hotel next door dar tozeur ( same owner) but you can’t have diner on site ( need to go next door) which is really inconvenient when traveling with toddler. No fresh orange juice at breakfast in the city where oranges abound. Why?
Cosy well decorated and beautiful courtyard Good location

TunisiaStarting from our check-in, the experience overall was very negative. First of all, the dar charges you an outrageous fee for parking and doesn't provide any parking nearby, which for a "luxury dar" one would think it would be included. We arrived after 6pm and the greeting was a bit harsh--the person did not speak either English or French very well, and was extremely keen to settle our bill, to the point that he entered our room without knocking with a credit card machine in hand! Our room for 3 people had only one bath towel in it, and I requested 2 more bath towels that took over two hours and multiple phone calls to the manager to be delivered. The towels themselves were extremely harsh--again, one would think for a luxury dar, the standard of towels would be a detail someone would pay attention to. Our room itself had mosquitoes in it, and the twin beds provided for my children were rock hard and uncomfortable. The next day I asked if someone could come in and spray or provide mosquito outlet repellant and just finding a person to communicate with at the dar was near to impossible--it was like there was no one in charge and the only person I could speak to required calling the general number. The breakfast was fine, nothing special, and not great. Overall I would recommend seeking out another dar in Tozeur--there are plenty of other options and Dar Nejma needs some training for its staff and refreshing its facilities.
The property and dar itself is quite charming, with lots of local touches and the rooms are well-decorated.
