Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe originally booked Maison D’Hôtes Villa Fatima but were offered the chance to stay at Dar Fatima instead and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The location was a perfect 10/10, and the Dar itself was stunning. The communal courtyard, complete with a peaceful water feature and plenty of shaded areas, made it the perfect place to relax outdoors without getting overheated. Our room was incredibly spacious, with a comfortable seating area, a beautiful bathroom, and even a TV (something we didn’t find in other Dars during our trip). The hospitality was truly next level. Taieb, the owner, personally checked us in and went out of his way to help my husband find an extra bag (we bought one too many rugs!). Another staff member recommended a great lunch spot for our drive back to Tunis. We had to leave early, but they were happy to prepare an early breakfast for us and it was delicious. No doubt the Villa at Fatima would have similarly exceeded our expectations, given the wonderful experience we had at the Dar. All in all, we highly recommend Dar Fatima. A wonderful stay from start to finish!

United KingdomExtremely welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts - nothing was too much trouble, and they were always available to help. We received a warm welcome on arrival with delicious mint tea and snacks. We stayed in the guest house in town which was peaceful while being conveniently located. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully and tastefully decorated with comfortable beds. Tayeb was incredibly helpful in arranging excursions. Fatima prepared wonderful food: breakfast was diverse and delicious with excellent service, as was dinner – a delicious meal of local specialities, and portions were generous. Highly recommend this guest house and its hosts.

United KingdomThe guesthouse is a beautiful traditional Tunisian house, with all the architectural and cultural characteristics. Its location in the centre of Tozeur is ideal for exploring the various worth-seeing sites like the medina and the oasis, shopping for souvenirs and enjoying the numerous cafes and restaurants. Tayeb and Fatima are exquisite hosts and, with the assistance of their friendly staff, will do everything they can for making you feel comfortable and welcome. They can also help you organise excursions further afield, to the mountain oases and the desert. Fatima's excellent culinary skills will give you a real taste of the south Tunisian cuisine.

MexicoIf mosquitos didn’t exist! But this is our fault for leaving the window open.
The breakfast was very good, a typical Tunisian breakfast but with many different options on the table! Also the hosts picked us from the airport and helped us find our way back up to the north of the country after our flight was cancelled. Very accommodating and responsive hosts.

JapanRead til end! Staff needs to be trained properly. There was connection issue in a payment machine. The staff insisted that he can't let us in to the room until the payment is done. So we ended up waiting for 30 mins just to complete check in. As we were tired after 2-3 hours drive, we wish he could have been more flexible like letting us take to the room first and follow up once the problem fixed. Also we felt a bit unfair with the quantity of food served by staff during dinner time. One of the dishes was like a portion for one person so we asked if we can have more but the staff refused. After finishing meals and seeing others' peoples dishes, we realized there was a big difference in quantity of food we felt too less. HOWEVER, owner has fixed all these problems immediately and made our time in Tozeur positive overall. For the complaint we had for dinner, I apologized the mistake to us in person and arranged a special free lunch. I really wish all the staff could work like the owner who possess strong hospitality and professionalism.
The owner was exceptionally friendly and professional, ensuring guests feel warmly welcomed and receive the best possible experience. The location and food were also outstanding! From cost, location, and experience perspectives, I highly recommend to stay you here!

United Arab EmiratesI stayed two nights in another room in Dar Fatima Elbahbouha which is owned by the same owner. He is kind and helpful. He helped us booking excursion tour. Staying in Dar Fatima Elbahbouha exceeds my expectations. Room was big, clean and comfortable. It's located just walking distance to old Medina, restaurants and shops. Thank you Mr. Daali for welcoming us while the owner was absence due to urgent matters. Breakfast was good.

Brazil- the internet did not work in the room. Even in the main hall it was very weak; - Since the place looks like a riad (rooms are located around a central hall), it can be very noisy. The 2 night I sleep there were very silent, but I guess I was the only one there (low season). But I was woke up at 06am because of staff noise. So, maybe it’d be good to establish a “silent time”, so everybody could nicely rest.
INDEED, MY EVALUATION CONCERNS TO THE NEW BUILDING THEY HAVE JUST OPENED, AND BOT THE ONE SHOWN ON THIS PROFILE. - the building is brand new and really nice; - the suite they gave me is huge and very comfortable - it’s very well located, a few walks from the old Medina and some restaurants; - easy to park a car just in front; - the staff is amazing; - very good breakfast - I sleep very well there! Amazing bed and comfy bed sheets; - the owner is a very nice person, speaking a very good English and ready to provide informations and tips.

United KingdomThis is THE PLACE for vegetarians/vegans. Fatima worked at a vegetarian restaurant in Belgium, and is now cooking amazing vegetarian dinners for guests. I spent a month in Tunisia, and this was the only place where I was able to appreciate the diversity of local cuisine as a vegetarian. Our stay was wonderful! And the location is perfect, from here you can visit the dessert, the salt flats and many canyons in a rental car, no need for 4x4 car and no need for expensive tours. The roads to most places have now been paved and unpaved roads are in good condition too. Thank you so much to Fatima for taking such good care of us from breakfast and dinners to extra blankets and helping us to get the best haircut!

United StatesIt would be helpful if the first picture on booking.com was the gate from the outside - there is no number of name (though to be fair, the "entrance on the corner" describes it well.
In a modern area of town, the house is upmarket and well decorated. The hosts were away, but left it in good hands with the breakfast lady who gave a very good breakfast each morning, The neighbourhood is quiet, safe and parking is easy. The dinner choices were typically a mile or so away, so a car is preferable - museums are close. The a/c worked in the room, but took rather a long time to cool it off. The wi-fi was OK but not the best (in our room - it was stronger in other parts of the house).

NetherlandsNothing!
Living in the home of Mr and Mrs Rabah was a treat: We were truly made to feel at home. Although we had our own space and privacy, we benefitted from the warmth and reassurance that if we needed anything, nothing would be too difficult to organise. Mr Rabah kindly organised the excursions we wanted to go on beforehand and provided extensive advice on the route's planning even taking the time to have several long conversations before our arrival. All had been arranged by the time we arrived. The breakfasts were banquets and we had long conversations about all sorts. Although we didn't have dinner, Fatima offered to cook for us. I loved Tozeur, the people, the dry climate and the local community feel. Do not look anywhere further than Dar Fatima!

Fatima was very welcoming and kind, the room was spacious with a balcony and high ceilings, everything to be comfortable was provided including extra towels and a bowl of dates and fruit to snack on. The breakfast was very nice, with eggs, bread, and homemade jams and sweets.
