Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt’s a helluva walk into town. And the neighbourhood dogs, pigs and cockerels noisy and fighting all night every night kept me awake.
Bedroom and bathroom was fab. Kitchen facilities good too. The staff were really friendly.

United KingdomSuper friendly staff who all greeted me on arrival and helped with some queries. Great location, just 5-10 minutes walk to main restaurants and town amenities. My room was super clean, air conditioning was much appreciated, and the kitchenette/lounge area was really comfortable. Bathroom was perfectly clean, grateful for the toiletries and good water pressure! Breakfast was really good and staff never leave you without anything. Also big bonus points for the large water filter container, reducing the need for plastic bottles!

ItalyI had only a problem: the little market down the street had the music high volume at any hour and I could not enjoy the silence :-(
Flying Annie Moa is a very nice hotel in the center of Neiafu, very close to the port and to the main restaurants, few minutes walking. It has a nice atmosphere and the breakfast is taken all together on a large table in the dining room. The rooms are confortable and clean. Excellent!!

SwitzerlandNo negative points, the accommodation is not well rated on Booking, but after 3 days there, I definitely don’t understand why, given the fact that I am a “picky” girl traveler. I think the bad comments/ratings are outdated, and not accurate anymore.
-Very well located, in the city center and at 3 minutes walk from the whale swimming tours. More convenient than the hotels on the other part of the island, because you have access to all the facilities of the town. - Extremely clean !! The floor, the bathroom, the bed, the common kitchen, etc… You feel like at home - Staff is amazing, they helped us when we add issues, give advices and super cool - good breakfast, just what you need for your day - comfy bed and bathroom pretty modern for a hostel in the Pacific (I did 5 other hostel before, so I have quite a good benchmark) - large commune living room with sofas, you somehow feel at home - nice terrasse to enjoy the sun and a coffee after Whale swimming tour.

NetherlandsI paid far too much for the whale swimming with Flying Annie Moa. I paid 400 USD while other people on the boat only 300 USD paid for exactly the same trip. When i asked for a refund they said i paid more for the extra service, but there was now extra service. Terrible! Then i moved to other accomodation which was awesome and very friendly staff. Also went to other whale swimming company which was much cheaper and had even lunch, fruit, drinks, cookies and chips on board. So watch out for this company if you dont want to lose money.

AustraliaThe service of the staff was unreliable at most times. Case 1. Communicating with the staff was almost a non event as I had to make multiple calls to various numbers listed, some of which were no longer working but still displayed as being active. Case 2. I was informed that I would have someone at the airport waiting for me with the hotel name on the vehicle and with the hotel name on a large card. I waited for about 15 minutes and could not see anyone, nor any vehicle. Someone else was kind enough to give me a ride to the hotel. Upon questioning the hotel person who was assigned to come and pick me up, she said that she was there and saw me! If so, where was she because she did not come to me. She was either late or was lying. Case 3. There seemed to be a communication issue between two members of the staff. They seemed to talk low of the other person and it was always the other person's responsibility. I enquired one of them to tell me how much my total accommodation would be in Tongan dollars, she said $350.00. I went out and got cash from the ATM. But upon checking out I was told that it was Tongan dollars $750.00! Oh, but I can now only pay in USD and they would not know the rate until the Western Union office was open. I had a flight to catch and could not wait around. I insisted that the staff member finalize my booking as I had to leave. The service was very unprofessional. As such, they never asked for my room key, nor did I remember to give it. I have been informed by my family there that a staff member came to their home stating that I had to pay for the 'lost' key otherwise the family/friend would have to pay for it.
Breakfast was prepared with care. Availability of fresh ingredients was appreciated. The dining/living area could be more comfortable as the tempreture was quite high on all the three days I was there. This made eating and relaxing in the areas most uncomfortable. In as much as I would have liked to stay out of the room, I had no choice but to go back in just to be comfortable. Air conditioning would be a great investment.
