Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaUnfortunately they couldn’t get wifi working for the 3 nights we were there, hopefully that will be fixed soon tho! We also thought it would be nice if guests were free of charge for the service fee of the restaurant upstairs as we have to endure the lift with lots of visitors of the restaurant as well. Else everything was great!
The location was good, but very busy, but was a great experience if you’re wanting to be in the hustle and bustle of it all. Staying there did allow us to see some cool shops and cafes in the area. The staff are really nice too!

TurkeyI didn’t have views, it was very noisy, the elevator didn’t come to room level, I felt very unsafe when I was going to the room, there were no grab bars on the walls to hold, there was a giant construction machine just in front of the hotel.

United StatesWe stayed at several places during our trip to Turkey and found this hotel to have the least friendly staff, with the exception of the cleaning staff, the breakfast selection didn't have as much variety as other places, and it was much more expensive. The location is amazing, but they was a couple of loud events during the 4 days we stayed. If you like to go to sleep early I suggest bringing ear plugs or a white noise machine.
The location and views from the hotel were amazing.

GeorgiaThe hotel is old. I wouldn't call it four-star-hotel. It's obviously less. Taking into consideration this, I paid a bit more then I received the comfort, but the location balances this flaw.
The location is perfect. Staff is very friendly and helpfool. And the rooftop restaurant is huge benefit of this place. Imagine, living in the shade of Galata tower. That's how it is.

United StatesThe AC is centralized and could not be controlled from your room, I was sweating because it gets really hot at night and the only way I could expect any ventilation is by keeping windows open and its get really loud at night outside. Wifi is not as fast and its choppy in the room. The other thing I didn't like is that no one helped me with my luggages at all. The electrical ports are local so anyone traveling from US should carry a travel adapter as they are not provided by the hotel.
The best USP for the property is the location, its next to Galata, walking distance from major tram stations, and many tourist attractions. The place is clean, interior are stylish old architecture, but what I liked the most is the roof top bar and restaurant. Great food, nice selection of the wines. Ismet is one of the best bartender I met, he is funny, and he definitely know his job. Will definitely come and stay again.

United StatesAs soon as I entered the room it’s smelled really bad. The room was dusty. It felt like it hasn’t been vacummed for days. I had trouble breathing at night ! The room was extremely noisy. You can hear the people outside. The bed was fine but the rest of the room was very dirty and smelly.
I liked the location!

United Arab EmiratesThe breakfast is abysmal. For 17K LIRA, it is mind boggling that the breakfast has very limited choices, twice they undercook basic pancakes and by the way the portions are small. I asked for room service menu, and the receptionist staff who cannot communicate in English re-directed to their upstairs restaurant menu. Then a gentleman from this restaurant showed up to my bedroom door, with a plastic card on the tables which usually contain a barcode to scan the barcode to have access to the upstairs restaurant menu. Never, in our travels we went to a hotel where it didn't have a room service!!! Something somewhat related to the hotel is that overall we have found the people in istanbul to be rude, greedy, and completely disrespectful. The taxi drivers rip you off, people are not friendly, and overall we felt unsafe. We came on a daughter-mother trip to celebrate my birthday and on the day of my birthday, we to the hotel room early, exhausted and emotionally drained from horrible people! Istanbul never again
When we first entered the property, we liked that it was full of life owing to its location. However, it goes downhill when you enter the room and have your stay.
