Reviews of Aslan Apartments

The apartment is comfortable and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The host is very helpful, disposable and provides valuable information. The appartment has a terrace with beautiful view over the Bosphorus. The location is excellent- within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace.

Beautiful views! Amazing to wake up every day and look out over the Marmara and end the day with a glass of wine or tea on the gorgeous balcony. Aslan and Gulnar were amazing and communicative the whole way! Check in and check out was so easy and nice and they are wonderful people. As others have stated, it is a fifth floor walkup. This wasn't a surprise when we booked (it says it in the description) and there is nothing the hosts can do about the construction of a building! However, if you're not in good shape or have mobility issues, you should be prepared! The area is top notch and near all the attractions for "first timers." I REALLY appreciated the book they put together with recommendations, warnings about certain things, and sights to see! The place is absolutely lovely and we look forward to booking when we come to Istanbul again!

Its near everything you want in Sultanahmet, very classic place and if you like classic things it will be the perfect place to stay, but if you prefer modern places so i dont recommend it for you.

The stairs! Giving the fact that Istanbul is not flat and you need to climb the narrow streets to reach the place, you still need to climb the stairs to reach the apartment

No elevators, the stairs were crammed and unstable/noisy.

It is very difficult to park the car, looks like everyone have the same problem.

We traveled with our 1,5 year old and stayed in the penthouse apartment. The location was great, very close to the Grand Bazaar and in walking distance of most great attractions. The apartment was comfortable and very well equipped. The spacious balcony has an amazing unobstructed view over the Bosphorus and was great for relaxing in the evening without disturbing the baby after she went to sleep. And yes, it is a 4th floor with no elevator, but honestly the stairs were not that bad and we were climbing them twice a day with a baby (but we do have a lightweight compact stroller). If visiting Istanbul again, would love to stay here again.

The one thing I would change is the room curtains to some black-out ones to keep the room dark, specially in the summer time when the sun raises early.

Second time staying here: comfortable, clean, good location yet quiet, beautiful view of sea of Marmara and Princes Islands. Very responsive and accommodating hosts.

Needs night light above front door of building for those arriving after dark, but nothing to do with the accommodation itself.

Nice place close to all main attractions, including Sofia, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Cistern and much more. Good sea view. Excellent helpful staff. Kitchen with every facility, two rooms, balcony

Internet broke in the last day, but Aslan tried to help and even offer a compensation for using our mobile internet. Couldn’t find capsules for coffee machine in nearby shops.

Property was near to many major tourist attractions. There was an AC. Balcony had a nice view to the sea. Friendly owners. Comfortable beds.

When we arrived, we were told there is problems with electricity in bathroom, and that we will not able to close the door to bathroom because there was a cable going were the door should close. That was a little annoying because there was an unpleasant sewer smell coming from WC. Later on, we tried using the washing machine and when we turned it on, it made very loud noise and released a bunch of sparks and started smoking. We got really scared and immediately called owners, they did not pickup so we called person who greeted us and I guess who where working there. We got and apology and were told that the washing machine was probably the reason why the electricity was not working in bathroom. And we got also a replacement washing machine. In my opinion, there was other stuff that also needed replacement, because it was broken or too old. (Lamp near sofa was unstable and looked like it will break every time you touched it, bath was collecting water when you shower, lots of kitchen counter door were squeaky, refrigerator was making noises all night, sleeping room light was very dim and bed side cabinet drawers were falling out, etc.) Also the appartament floor was not very clean on arrival. We even found some old medication lying on floor near eating table. Which wad not very safe because we were travelling with a small child.

I stayed on the top floor so the view was amazing. I could see the beautiful sea from the room. I would like to stay here when I come to Istanbul next time. And the owner is very kind.

There is no elevator so it is hard to go up to the room with suitcase. Also the way to the nearest station has steep slope.

Nice neighborhood (quiet, away from crowds) but may be problematic if you travel with kids. Grand bazaar, agia Sofia are very close. So is the tram. No problems with logistics. The view is great. Especially when you get back home after a tiring day. The host was very attentive and helpful! Mind the stairs. We walked 25-30 thousand steps daily and going up to the apartment was our final challenge. We managed because we knew that the apartment is nice and waiting for us
