To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaMaybe a bit of renovation. Also would have loved to turn on the cooling AC as it was a bit hot in Istanbul on dates of stay (AC was locked to warm). Opening window is an option but it's too noisy outside due to high traffic. But all on all a pleasant stay, would come back again.

Nice hotel, close to the highway, Mecidiyeköy is very vibrant. Close to Cevahir shopping mall and metro.

Great location in the city center, close to the tube station. Very friendly and helpful staff. They have 1 bed room alternatives for solo travellers, which is an advantage from a pricing perspective.

PakistanFacility to receive change in the currency like USD or Euro rather then in Turkish Lira. The cashier/ receptionist refused to return the cash in the same currency in which payment was made which is rather a pain. A little flexibility for late check-out would have been appreciated considering that I stayed for 5 nights and with late evening flight on the day of departure.
Breakfast was quite elaborate and met the requirements of an excellent breakfast. The staff in the restaurant was also friendly and caring and did not leave much to be desired. The location was perfect for me as I was there for a conference and the location fairmont hotel was only 3 minutes walk, so were the restaurants, and shops. It was away from the touristic places like Sultan Ahmet or Taksim.

Everything was perfect. Everyone was so nice and helpful- from room service to restaurant staff. Plug adapters were provided and all bathrooms supplies and fresh towels were given every day. Breakfast is served on the plate and for longer stay could be boring. We wanted to try massage, but unfortunately our appointment time was mixed up and the other offered time didn't suit us at all. By the way, if you are looking for massage for 2 people the same time- they have only one theraphist(as we were told). Hotel is a very good location, just 7-10 minutes walking distance from metro station. Hotel has and app divan life which is very handy and easy to use. We did enjoy our time in the hotel! Would definitely come again.
