How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Was supposed to be a room with a lake view but we were on the other side of the building facing parked cars. Bathroom had stains on the floor. There wasn’t a bedside lamp that I could turn on the read a book.

i didnt like because we were not comfortable because of sexulity sound between the rooms we were visiting there as a family its not nice to hear sexxulity voices when you are with your mother sisters and family and we told the reciption 3 times they didnt do anything about it and it was not just 1 time they did that more than 6 times and there voices were so loud because of that we changed our mind

Verified reviewThe best breakfast we've had in Turkey in 3 weeks of travel! Comfortable bed, quiet room. Nice walk around lake.
There was a built in wall fan making lots of noise when we arrived. When I complained (ready to move rooms) they said all rooms have them and it'll turn off at 5pm. The staff don't smile, or make eye contact. They seem unhappy we're there. We had had two staff smile, the breakfast server and the morning receptionist. Dinner in the restaurant was slow, they didn't have our choices and food was bland and only passable, and service was without a smile. I was surprised breakfast was so good after the poor evening meal. There's rubble, a few trip hazards and weeds around the place...needs tidying up.

Verified reviewConvenient location for road stop from Istanbul to Cappadocia. Turkish breakfast had nice spread and tasty. Staff did not speak much English but they were okay.
Room had very strong smell of cigarettes dispute non-smoking room. Room and facility was clean and nice however, when we tried to go sleep with AC on, it started making speaker sort of sounds and was quite bothering and we asked reception to check. Receptionist had someone looked into our AC and seemed like there was water inside or something that was making noise. We were not sure what was wrong as they did not speak English or even tried to explain but maintenance guy fixed it and left. but noise came back again and also there were wedding party(?) at the hotel on the night we stayed at the other end of the corridor and loud noise continued until late night. Luckily we had ear plugs and were able to rest but not at basic accommodation standard if rest of in-house guests can not have pleasant sleep.

Verified reviewOn the lake with a lovely lakeside walk. Breakfast was very good and lots of it.
Rooms were clean and comfortable, but there was a lingering smell of smoke. I would expect smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms, but it was obvious people had been smoking in there. Also, the duvet was not wide enough for the lovely king size bed.

Verified reviewwe were going to attend a wedding in the area and this hotel served perfectly for a one night stay after a long drive duing the day and a long night at the wedding.
apparently there is a miscommunication between booking and the hotel. because, from booking website you can secure the payment with amex and after checking in to your room you can hear a knock on the door to find an employee with a pos machine in hand saying "we couldn't get the payment". upon seeing your amex not going through but another card working, you get to realize they don't accept amex. that's totally fine, but finding this out after getting in the room is wrong. this should be told upfront and the employees have to be knowledgable about these basics.
