Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

An old historic building with memorable items on display to remind the good old days. It truly gives you a home away from home feeling & experience. The staff are super efficient, friendly and accomodating. Thanks to Vedat and Gulsah, perfect hosts with deep personal touch and care. Will be there again whenever in Istanbul

Kazakhstan-
Splendid old-style house, that is very well looked after, nicely decorated. It is located in a quiet place, far from the crowds of tourists - that was one of the main factors for my decision to stay there. Nice location to explore the asian side of Istanbul. Beside that it is quite close to a metro and a ferry. Kuzguncuk is accessible by foot. And i can’t but say about the owners and staff - they all are great people, welcoming and helpful, who really create that sort of atmosphere like you are at home. Plus an additional hug goes for that black kitty🤗 ❤️❤️❤️

NetherlandsNothing. The beds were pretty hard but that is a personal thing.
Breakfast was wonderful and plenty. Staff was very friendly. So were the cats! One morning we had to leave early for a tour and they made us a packed breakfast for us to take with us. The option to borrow a local travel card was great too.

A cozy old house but in a perfect condition, breakfasts are served in the garden by the house and are very good. There are lots of friendly cats in the garden, too ❤️

AustriaPerfect place for a calm holiday. The garden is just so peaceful and beautiful. Staff are very polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and full of with little details like Turkish Delights etc. You can get a free public transportation card from hotel, which pretty helpful and nice. The best part is that it is a small family hotel and you feel it. Also breakfast is awesome!

United States of AmericaMy mother had a B&B in an 1865 house. Ottoman Suites dates from ~1875, and I felt immediately at home. The Sera House Cafe is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Location is surprisingly convenient for accessing the rest of the city via bus (12a), ferry, tram, and Marmaray, making it a good base of operations. Gulsah is a gracious host who pays attention to even the smallest details, such as an "emergency box" and a scale next to the front door.

NetherlandsAs it is an old building, you sometimes hear people staying on the upper floor walk but it is not too disturbing.
It is a beautiful building with a lot of history. As it used to be home to a family, it offers homely environment and warm feeling. Everything seems to be maintained well. It has an amazing garden and its location is great. Even tough it is located on the Asian side, traveling to European side is very easy as it is close to the bridge, seaside, bus stops and boat stations. Friendly staff, lovely cats in the garden and tasty breakfast! Check, check and check..

United States of AmericaMy driver and I were very confused by what to do on arrival! But we were quickly met after he spoke to the manager on my phone in Turkish. When I left there were some rather vicious dogs that almost attacked me and the driver, but that is more a city problem and not the hotel’s. I mean they attacked the van! Luckily we were inside and driving away.
Like visiting a friend’s house.

South AfricaThe hosts were great, extremely accommodating and very nice in general! They have this great little booklet that explains exactly which bus, train or tram to take to get to all the sights and attractions which was great as we were first time travelers to Istanbul. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was big and plentiful.

Wonderfull design in the room, everything was very comfortable. My room was at the upper floor, that's why it was very quiet. There is a balcony in the room, that's great plus. But if you have lugguage, it needs to pick up upstairs .

RussiaThis place a little bit noisy, you can hear everything in your room, but it's old house, what do you want?))
It's the beautiful place in the center of the city with beautiful and generous people. They helped us with our "touristic troubles" and in the last day they helped us with the huge taxi. We loved their house, it's a little bit antique and cozy. This place smell like my childhood.
