Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

WiFi did not work. Hotel receptionist was unable to help
Room with a balcony, clean and quiet, small but comfortable. Hotel is in a central area, walking distance from Taksim square, shops and restaurants. Area is safe and not too crowded. Staff are pleasant.

Loved everything about the hotel: - all employees are very friendly and smiling; - the location is perfect; - it was the cleanest room I had stayed in a very long time (which is very important to me); - the bed was comfy. Also I got a room upgrade which was a lovely surprise upon my late arrival. Will definitely stay here again when back to Istanbul.

A constant noise, like the old ovens/furnaces, so that leaving the room's window open during the night was not possible.

Everything about this Hotel is good. Specially that i forgot my 2 watches and some cash in the safe and when i called them via whatsapp, they immediately went to the room and got my stuff and held it until i got back 3 days later feom cappadoccia to claim and stay one last night at this hotel.

The location of the property is very close to Taksim square as well as metro station. The property was super clean, comfy beds and especially the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Very nice hotel, elegant, very clean and with great location (few minutes away from Taksim square and metro, also supermarkets and restaurants). I felt safe as I was alone. Very friendly staff, polite and helpful !!! Also, I had a nice surprise when I arrived, I got my room upgrated. I recommend it !

We loved everything about our stay at Vardar Palace! It is located at an excellent, convenient, walkable location near Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. The staff are total gems. Our room (2x twins with street-facing balcony) was so comfortable and provided a great spot for mid-day rests in the summer heat (the AC was clutch in July) just slightly tucked away from the crowds. We found the pricing to be quite reasonable, too! Would definitely stay again.

Great location near grocery and small, local restaurant. Just a few minutes’ walk from the main sites and away from the noise of the very center of town. The welcoming family and staff made it very enjoyable!

When I asked about early check in, they answered quickly and politely. And I was really lucky I was allowed to check in at 9am because there was one room which was ready. The location is good and quiet at night even there are many restaurants near the hotel.
