We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaThe room walls and floor were thin and the floor was wooden instead of carpet so I could always hear the cleaning staff cleaning adjacent rooms during the day, and sometimes the person upstairs at night as well. Also, there's no microwave in the room so I couldn't bring food back and heat it up. A couple bowls or utensils would have been nice too. But the room listing did not include any of these so I was not expecting it anyway.
The room was big and comfortable and quite clean. The staff was very helpful whenever I had questions. They also had free water refills which was very nice. The location is very nice and there are lots of cheap food options nearby.

GermanyThe furnishings and equipment in the room felt basic and/or old, and the cleaning seemed basic. For example, there was a lot of dust in the corners, and smears of stuff on the bathroom wall. What bothered me most, however, is that the pillow on the bed made me cough very badly. (I'm allergic to mold.) I requested a new pillow which was delivered promptly, but this felt not quite clean or new either.
The room was fairly spacious. I appreciated having a balcony, and a private washing machine incl. detergent.
