Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis a great place to stay if you will be exploring the mountains near Alishan. The views are amazing. The location is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The downhill entrance is connected to a small parking lot. The room was simple and had everything I needed. I came in August and I didnt even need to use the air conditioning. The breakfast was very good. Also simple with your choice of coffee or milk tea, toast, ham, eggs, and a small salad. Highly recommend.

Ireland2 comfortable chairs in the room would have made this a 10 out of 10 - we brought in the folding chairs from outside when we wanted to watch some tv, but they weren't very comfortable.
Room was spacious and there was a large tv, and the bed was very comfortable. Owner was friendly. Breakfast was provided which was reasonably tasty.

AustraliaNothing to fault. The host speaks very little English but this is more of a poor refection on us, as we were visiting their country. Thank goodness for Google translate :)
Beautiful location amongst the tea fields and we definitely recommend pre arranging with the host to prepare dinner for you. The meal was home cooked and delicious, featuring local 'hero' ingredients. Spotlessly clean accommodation. We also recommend doing the firefly tour if you are visiting at the right time of year.

The owner was really really helpful. She gave tons of advice for planning my itinerary for the trip, and helped with all the last minute requests I had. The facilities are clean, food is great, location is really great too. Reasonably distanced from restaurants and convenience store, and right outside the BnB there is a very beautiful trail.

SwitzerlandOur room was right by the stairs which are pretty loud when you step on them. Therefore, on our last day, when there were more guests, we got woken up repeatedly by people using those stairs in the morning.
We had an amazing stay at SunRise 235. The owner was super nice and the dishes she cooked were delicious. They seem to also partner up with the hostel next door who took us to a great spot to watch fireflies.

GermanyThe price is too high for what you get. The WiFi is very slow to the point it does not exist.
The place is spacious and very good located. The breakfast is interesting but rather basic, it will not take long until you feel hungry again. One can park his or her car on the premises.

PhilippinesExcellent B&B with spacious, clean rooms. Friendly host who provided a free breakfast each day and could also cook an evening meal if requested in advance (at extra cost). Stunning location in short walking distance of trails and Shizhao village, with incredible mountain and tea plantation views.

Singapore+No power outlets on the counter/table +A little hard to get to without a car, but at least it's pretty close to a bus stop
+Great view right outside the room +Dinner prepared by the host was really good, there were local dishes made using local ingredients (NTD500 per person) +The host organizes firefly viewing trips together with nearby BNBs (NTD200 per person), where they provide transport to and fro a protected firefly area. Highly recommend participating because there's really nothing else to do in the area.

SingaporeNo, sunrise is not exactly beautifully seen as sunset😁
Fiona cooks an excellent dinner. Breakfast may look limited, but can ask for seconds. Location is close to the bus stop on the way to Fenchihu. Sunset from a nearby pavilion is stunning.

SingaporeWe didn't know there was a bus stop just outside the B&B. This bus stop is unmarked on maps and only known to locals. So we dropped off in town and climbed the very steep hill with our luggages to check in.
Breakfast was delicious. The place is near some of the quieter trails and made for very good morning walks. The place overlooks tea plantations and is quiet restful. The sunset was gorgeous as the place is high enough to be able to see the sea of clouds in the evening. Host went out of the way to drop us off in town for lunch, and gave excellent directions to trails and to take the bus back to Chiayi.

United StatesBath room could use an update. Adjacent Tea factory jumble up the otherwise facility's neat entrance.
Decent B&B close to Alishan Forrest, Fengihu, and Shizhao's various trails. Decent clean room. Very healthy breakfast cooked by the receptionist, with vegetables picked from the garden next to the facility. Close to the 169 observatory (walk up the ram) where you can view the beautiful sunset. Very close to 中興製茶所 李健誠 初晨 CHU CHEN handmade tea where we viewed the spectacular cherry blossoms (end of Feb).

It's a 10 minutes drive to Fengiyu and 45 minutes drive to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. It was great to watch both sunrise and sunset from the hotel.
