The accommodation is not physically on the beach, but it is only a less than 2 minute walk!

This was my first solo trip and Paje by night was an excellent choice. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by helpful, friendly staff with a great sense of humor. I met other solo travelers her easily. It's enclosed and you stay in your own little chalet style room, the bathrooms were fab!, rooms very trendy and cleared every day. The food was SO tasty - lots of really good quality Italian dishes. Shop just a 2 minute walk. Tours and water sports can be planned from the reception, yoga was daily, massages and spa treatments were available.

Fantastically friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, nice rooms, highly recommended yoga. Great to be so close to the beach and also to have the Paje by Night beach bar right on the beach. Do book it!

No minuses, really.

Hotel created in African style, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool under the palms. Around 100m to the beach, a lot of small shops around, you can fell like in the middle of everything, but inside hotel is a peace and quiet. Good WiFi. Good breakfasts.

The swimming pool needs sorting out - keep the birds out of it, cut off the trees hanging over it, repaint the lining. It really was not inviting at all and we saw only a few people use it during our stay. There was bird poo in the water. The birds were also problematic around the tables when eating.

Great location, though not on the beach it was very close and quieter as set back a little.

Everything was okay.

Very nice hotel with a lovely garden, great staff, very close to the beach and near restaurants and shops. They also have a nice pool, yoga classes, massage and can organise trips for the guests. The room was big and very comfortable, with the aircon working really well (and you need it in February when it's so hot in Zanzibar).

Paje By Night is super close to the beach. It has a non attached beach lounge for hotel guests only which has food and drinks - it’s comfortable! The restaurant has fantastic food but is a bit pricy. An easy walk to many restaurants and shops!

Food in the hotel restaurant was okay/good but wouldn’t rate it as amazing. However, we found this to be the case across most restaurants in Paje.

Perfect location a minute walk from the beach and close to a modern store and to the local market where you can buy paintings, souvenirs etc. We are a couple and we had 3 friends traveling with us staying in another room for the same duration. we all really enjoyed the stay and the staff was incredibly nice and attentive! The rooms have an AC and are well maintained. The hotel area is well designed with plenty of space, nicely lit at night for good ambience. also has strong Wifi (worked well for Zoom calls, work, etc).

The bread was terrible and could be much better considering the high quality of the rest of the food offer. The floors in the bedrooms were filthy and seemingly never properly cleaned with a mop. The bed mattresses were filthy and did not have mattress protectors. The showers were huge but had very poor water pressure and regularly ran out of hot water. Too many crows that were noisy, pooed everywhere (often on people) and would steal food at any opportunity. Their numbers need controlling, as they are just pests that also restrict other more beautiful indigenous birds. The music played at Paje by Kite on the beach, was sometimes awful and the workers behind the bar sometimes just wanted to play loud, hardcore techno music first thing in the morning, which was pretty stressful.

Very friendly service. Wonderful food (except the bread) - honestly some of the best meals on the island and we tried a lot of other fancier more expensive hotels & restaurants. The location away from the beach, which may not be as glamourous as some of the other hotels, but actually provides a wonderful jungle-like setting and is sheltered from the winds and crowds that you get on the beachfront. Paje by Kite and Paje by Night on the beach is one of the best beach hangouts and is only a 7 min walk from the hotel.

Perfect location a minute or two walk from the beach plus its own private beach with comfy loungers and a tapas bar. The room had a beach hut feel, decorated in white and blue and well appointed with safe, a/c, individual fans over each bed, mosquito nets, Ensuite bathroom etc. Only complaint is the mattress was a little too soft for our liking and our backs, but that's a personal matter. Breakfast had several options for different dietary requirements. The staff were friendly and efficient and Louis explained the facilities well when we arrived. We would definitely stay again.

Everything was phenomenal yet below are couple of silly points :) 1- the hotel is eco friendly; which means you wont be able to find plastic water bottles. They will give you a reusable bottle and ull have to fill it from the hotel. Luckily, facing the parking you will find a 24 hour supermarket ( i mean proper supermarket) so you won't have to worry about anything. 2- the view from the room is gorgeous; it would be easier sitting if we had cushion on the benches outside. But again, we managed by getting a cushion from the room. Honestly, these 2 points were manageable!! Everything else was perfect.

The hotel was an experience by it self, walking through the hotel for about 1 minute and you will reach the beautiful beach of Paje. The location by the beach was superb, although you will have to go through the central market from land to reach the hotel but you will simply love it. The staff were soo friendly( just like anyone on the island).. Hakuna Matata :) They even came to our room to spray for mosquitos multiple time during our stay. It is few minutes away from the beach and famous places there.

Perfect hotel to practice yoga and enjoy the beach in equal manner. Simple lovely rooms that make your stay comfortable. As a solo traveler, this is the perfect spot where to enjoy your space but also easily meet a nice community of fellow yoguis. Truly recommend this hotel, would certainly come back!

Bar on pictures is 5-8min walk away, provides no discount for residents and staff wasn’t very pleasant there so may as well go to nearby waterfront bar instead.

Very nice place with cool design, pictures on website do not give justice. Also didn’t expect there is a yoga retreat so got a good package. Amazing food too, best fish ever! Only thing is not directly by the beach, few meters walk.

They didn't have a bidet in the washroom. Otherwise everything was great. Mattress was a bit hard for our liking. WiFi wasn't very good in the room.

I can´t really think of anything!

The room has got a safe and mosquito net which I really liked. The shower had strong water pressure with nice hot water. Also I got offered a fridge which I appreciated very much because I eat only fruit. The beach is only 3 minutes away, which was perfect for me. I actually liked this place so much, that I even extended for one more week! The town Paje is small but I got everything that I needed and if not I talked to the hotel owner or some locals to get it for me. There is also a bus station very close and I travelled to some big markets already twice. Small issues in the room got fixed almost immediately! The staff and hotel management were very helpful and extremely open and interested that I feel well.
