Amazing stay at Pumzika. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Rooms were clean, had AC and a safe. Mustafa, the host couldn’t be more helpful. He was always on hand to give the best recommendations and to organise whatever tours you wish. If you want to help support the local community in Kendwa , I would highly recommend staying here.

Everything was great!

Mustafa was an excellent host that shared local knowledge and was available to support with anything I needed. The villa is right in the heart of the village and I highly recommend it as it had easy beach access but was a nice experience to interact with locals and get to know the community in Kendwa. Everything was clean and comfortable.

🇵🇭 All were excellent for budget friendly accomodation. Staffs were very accommodating especially Musa. Hard working guy. Will show you how to get around and of good value too. Ask him for tours he knows the best spots. Will sure to book again. Calling all kabayans 🇵🇭 sulit dito. Malapit lang din sa beach.

Nothing really comes to mind

The place is nicely tucked away just off one of the main roads. It's a stone's throw from some nice restaurants like Tropicana and say a two walk from the beach. Mustafa, the host was excellent and always happy and ready to lend a helping hand. He kept the place clean and well maintained. The rooms had fridges, safes, and aircons which were a life saver for me haha.

We stayed for two nights and very basic. The location of the supper, many restaurants and shops to select. A minute walk to a very which sand beach. We were to check in earlier and check out late no problems.

Located next to the beach the house provides comfortable rooms an a very well equipped kitchen. Wifi is working very well and warm water is also provided. Perfect location just to calm down and relax close to a beautiful beach.

What did not like is the frequent power outages in the evenings, but this is not a problem of the hotel, but of the whole of Zanzibar. We also mist a TV.

The biggest advantage is the host - he helped organize trips and accompanied them, advised where to shop without spending too much, organized arrival from and to the airport. The property is behind metal gates, no unwelcomed visitors. Beautiful beach nearby.

Felt very nice, it was clean and the staff were very helpful and the location was great. We were told on arrival that the guesthouse was started to support the village and we got a complementary village tour.

Small minuses: - bathroom is clean and has toilet paper, but it had no shower gel/shampoo/handsoap - it would be nice to have these as well, especially as for air travel the passangers are limited to 100ml containers --> nethertheless, we knew about it from other reviews, so we brought our owns' (for 4 days stay) or you can buy from local mini market (if you stay more days). - map location not precise, it's actually on the right side of the road, as you look on the map - but it's in that area, anyway, and it has the name Pumzika written on the gate - and usually there are taxi cars parked near the gate.

- Great location, a short walk to the beach. - Mustafa, the host, very polite and helpful, arranged for a driver to the next location, as well as the pick-up from airport - both for good/local price. + sugested places to eat in the area, where to buy stuff/groceries, where to exchange money (at local mini market). - Room cleaning done daily. - Kitchen & dinning area also helpful - we did take a couple of times lunch or dinner as takeaway from local places and did ourselves nice big salads as side dish (vegetables from grocery amazing, especialy the big avocado, limes, ginger). - Towels available (both for bathroom, body and face, + for the beach) - we stayed in the big room, with beds having mosquito net (useful) - good restaurant next door (Sama sea food Kendwa) with good local food at reasonable/local price

Mustafa was incredibly helpful. He showed us where to go on the beach and helped organise a taxi for us. He was extremely welcoming.

Although it had the amenities of an apartment, there was no drinking water, no soap or shampoo, no coffee or tea or basic accoutrements to make even a simple breakfast. There were no supermarkets or restaurants, only small stores to buy basics like water, biscuits, coffee/tea. The best option was to go to one of the resorts to eat or come prepared w/ any foods to at least have breakfast

- clean - spacious - private - quiet - super close to the beach - kitchen is super useful We had a great experience, specially because of the manager, Mustafa! He made me feel like he honestly cares about my happiness! Mustafa is super friendly, trustworthy and he always tries to help, with small things like getting a taxi for a normal price (not tourist price), or more important ones, like excursions. He helped us to book a Safari trip in Tanzania for a great price, and the experience was amazing in every aspect of it. I just paid and Mustafa took care of the rest, which was perfect for my “vacation mindset”. Many many thanks, Mustafa! Badae!

- electricity cutting off in house for 3 days of my 4 day stay even though outside had electricity - toilet leaking, covered with a towel - cockroaches and a lot of Ants - no amenities in the toilet - you share a room in a house with strangers that leave the front door open - poor internet even with electricity

Got tempted by the pictures but the room was not as good as shown on pictures. Chosen to upgrade to a bigger room. Difficult to find (host had to help us). Therefore seemed overpriced.

Host (receptionist) is a great soul and volunteer. We were provided with the parking.

kitchen was not very well equipped and everything was very dirty. bathroom had no shower curtain so water was everywhere after showering. bed was VERY hard and my body was sore after the first night.

Location close to the beach (although the pictures make it look like beachfront location which it is not!). large room. relatively clean room. quiet location. locked gate. fridge available.
