Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceNothing at all.
It is a very quiet place to stay in. Excellent location, by the Jambiani beach. Staff pay attention to every little detail. The manager and his team take good care of you. You are not a room number, you are "guest"! The room is super clean. I wish I had stayed longer or at least finished my Zanzibari trip there. It was a top choice!

ItalyCheck-out at 10.45 is no-sense. It should be at 12 as in all hotels. It’s a bit odd such time giving the room rate per night you pay. They propose late check-out for 70$ which is no good value for money if you leave in the early afternoon.
Walking barefoot between the beach, the room, the restaurant. The staff is super welcoming as well as food that is really delicious

The hotel and area was MUCH MUCH better in real, than pictures and comments on booking.com The staff at the hotel and restaurant was the best and very very sweet and helpful. When we went for a walk on the beach none of the hotels was better than Sharazad. We will for sure come back to meet the staff and our new Masai friends on the beach. See you

United KingdomThe standard of food was not as great as I would have expected and the veggie options were very limited. We informed the hotel before our stay that we had a requirement for veggie options but this was not taken into account.
The facilities were great. There's space at this boutique hotel.

United Arab EmiratesIts a green-energy focused resort, and outstanding serenity and tranquility in the area of the hotel. Beautiful and empathic staff they have. Unfortunately i had to cut my holiday short and travel back to my home, they were understanding to an extent and they refunded a portion of my money back. Still grateful for that. Will definitely consider this hotel when i come back to you Zanzibar

United Kingdomthe menu didn’t change much but there were other restaurants to eat from.
loved that it was on a beach, hotel/villa was beautiful and we were glad to have the only one with air con. loved that it had three pools each in different locations of the hotel. the silent one was a really good choice. bonus that the hotel was near other hotels with restaurants so when we wanted to try something different we were able to without having to go out the hotel area. staff were friendly and welcoming.

GermanyI can't say there was anything that was really bad in the hotel. In retrospect, it might have been interesting to know how the hotel is organized to be considered an eco-hotel. This includes the question of where the electrical energy comes from or where the wastewater is discharged.
We enjoyed the friendly and courteous hospitality. The view of the well-kept palm garden in front of the beach and beyond to the sea was paradise.

HungaryIt is a great hideaway place on the east coast. We were welcomed by a drink, lovely smiles when we arrived. They also took time to show us around. The staff was friendly, the facilities are great (they provide you during your stay a beach bag, robe, manual fan) as well as a awesome local spa, several seating/lying area, and 3 pools. So you have plenty to do-s meanwhile low tide. Most of the programs are close to this part of the island so you are not stuck in the car for hours. There are some windsurfers, but not to bothering. You can find some digital nomads in the hotel ,which fit maximum 60 guests, they have a dedicated working area, which is great. It has an awesome yoga sala as well. They also clean the shore every week, and there are limited ‘beach boys around’, and even if there is no option for a buffet breakfast the amount and variety was great. The octopus was the best we have ever tried! Definitely will book it again if any time we come back to the island.

United KingdomNothing! Ah may the rooms could have had the UK plug points like the 'Zoom' area but this didn't make the experience any less pleasing, I will just remember to bring an adaptor next time.
EVERYTHING! This hotel was absolutely exceptional from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. The staff were incredible and really made an effort to get to know you. I was lucky enough to have an elevated room which meant I was greeted in the morning by several gorgeous monkeys which was an experience in itself. The food was divine and the spa....wow! Let's not forget the overall vibe of the hotel, it was just everything and more. Please, if you intend to visit Jambiani, make sure you spend your time at Sharazad, you won't regret it.

United States of AmericaAt breakfast Jenny and Myajuma were very friendly and Jenny has the most welcoming smile. Moses helped us a lot with our list luggage. Joyce was incredible in every way: beautiful smile, beautiful spirit, helped us contact all of our tour operators to make special arrangements, helped us book our romantic dinner, helped us book a spa appointment at a fabulous resort, opened up the gift shop after hours to help us get Safari supplies. At our special dinner, Zayna was very friendly, kind and made everything perfect. Everyone was wonderful - we felt right at home!
