The food could better satisfy different preferences in the future. Wifi is very poor and disconnected all time

    Property response:

Dear Najiya, Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are very pleased to hear that you appreciated the room and its cleanliness. For us, hygiene is a fundamental aspect to which we pay great attention in order to ensure our guests have a calm and enjoyable stay. Our gastronomic offering is also a priority; our buffet presents a variety of local and international dishes daily, designed to satisfy different tastes and needs. Whenever possible, our chef is also available to accommodate special requests from guests. Regarding the Wi-Fi connection, we inform guests at the time of booking that coverage is primarily available in the common areas. For those wishing to stay connected at all times, we recommend purchasing a local SIM card, a convenient solution appreciated by many of our guests. We hope to welcome you again in the future and provide you with an even more enjoyable stay. Kind regards, Guest Relation AHG Waridi Beach Resort & SPA

Limited breakfast. They have fresh fruits but they serve carton juice. No bacon, and not talking about pork meat because I understand is a Muslim country but in other countries they still serve beef bacon. It happened that bar didn’t have mint or even ice to make drinks. Never saw any bar not having ice before and travelled in Asia, Middle East, Europe, US, South America and Caribbean before. They propose shisha for a price but they don’t have charcoal for it. In all inclusive basis you get only 2 small bottles of water per day, if you want more you need to buy it from the bar. And the big bottle of water given during your lunch or dinner you can’t take it with you even if you didn’t finish. It doesn’t make any sense for an all inclusive facility. Gym- no equipment is working a part of weights. Wifi only works in reception or restaurant. Once there was internet problem and had no wifi until 2 pm. Be careful, they scam on the transportation if you pay in different currencies. So best pay in the cheapest foreign currency eg in USD rather than in Euro or any other than is more valuable. There are 5 channels in TV and if actually TV is working then the image has lines on it. Most of the time anyway it didn’t work. This is not related to hotel but, you can’t go out to the beach without being bothered by locals. This is annoying to another level.

    Property response:

Dear Beata, We are very pleased that the beach met your expectations. We would like to clarify that breakfast is served buffet-style and includes a variety of sweet, savoury, local, and international options to satisfy the needs and preferences of every guest. Should you wish for a particular dish, please remember that our chef is always available, whenever possible, to accommodate your requests. Regarding the all-inclusive formula, each property adopts its own model, and ours is always clearly communicated at the time of booking. The included drinks are served by the glass, as indicated, while water is available unlimited but always by the glass. This is also part of a green initiative to reduce plastic usage. Concerning the gym, we would like to point out that it is a small facility equipped with some basic equipment such as a treadmill, lat machine, and free weights. It is not a professional gym but provides the essentials for those wishing to stay active even on holiday. With regard to Wi-Fi, we inform guests at the time of booking that coverage is primarily guaranteed in the common areas. For those wishing to remain constantly connected, we recommend purchasing a local SIM card, an option many guests find practical and effective. We would also like to clarify that when paying in different currencies, exchange rates are applied which may vary depending on the currency used. It is perfectly normal for some currencies to be more favourable than others. As for the TV, since no issues were reported to reception, unfortunately we have been unable to check or replace the device. Our Maasai guards, who work for the resort, ensure security and tranquillity within the private area. Outside this zone, it is a public beach, where we have no authority to intervene. We encourage all guests to familiarise themselves with the destination and local culture before making a booking, to understand whether the location suits their tastes and needs. We hope to welcome you again in the future! Kind regards, Guest Relation AHG Waridi Beach Resort & SPA

The room needs renovation and when we arrived nothing worked. We spoke to the reception and they fixed the sockets and the lamp, but the TV was just a decorative item. There are a lot of power outages and the air conditioning didn't work for three days. It was very hot and it was very difficult to sleep. The bed was uncomfortable. The wifi doesn’t work properly. There were a lot of flies in the restaurant the whole time. The food had no variety, always the same taste and was extremely bad. The breakfast was nothing. The quality of the drinks was horrible. There were only a few drinks included in the all-inclusive package and the ones that were there were very bad. We were on the all-inclusive package and asked for a bottle of water and they said it would be charged separately and we could only get a glasses of water. They regulated the water. The bar stays open until late, but we can only get drinks on the all-inclusive plan until 10 pm. The staff lack training and there is no entertainment. The hotel is very far from everything and you can't even eat anywhere else unless you take a taxi. The beach is full of Masai people bothering you to buy everything from them, making it impossible to relax. Anyway, I don't recommend it at all.

    Property response:

Dear Cláudia, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, the opinions of our guests, when constructive, are extremely valuable to us. Our rooms are furnished in authentic Swahili style, a characteristic design that reflects the local soul of Zanzibar. However, we understand that tastes may vary and that this particular style may not be to everyone’s liking. We would like to clarify that all furnishings are fully functional and well maintained. We are sorry to hear that you did not find the mattress comfortable. Of course, the comfort of a mattress is highly subjective. Unfortunately, as no issue was reported during your stay, we were unable to offer an alternative solution. We always remind our guests that our reception team is available for any need, in order to ensure the most comfortable stay possible. Regarding the Wi-Fi connection and air conditioning, we inform our guests at the time of booking that Wi-Fi coverage is primarily guaranteed in the central areas of the resort. For those who wish to stay constantly connected, we recommend purchasing a local SIM card, an option many guests find practical and effective. During your stay, there were general power outages in the area due to bad weather. We did our best to compensate by using our generators to maintain essential services for the well-being of our guests. This also explains any disruptions to the Wi-Fi and air conditioning. However, each room is equipped with a ceiling fan and benefits from natural ventilation due to the resort’s favourable location. We are quite surprised that you did not enjoy our cuisine, which is one of our most appreciated aspects and consistently receives positive feedback from guests. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet-style, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. In addition, our chef is always available to cater to special requests or dietary requirements. With regard to the All-Inclusive offer, all relevant information is clearly communicated by our partners and during the booking process. Beverages included in the package are served by the glass, as stated, and water is available in unlimited quantities, also by the glass, a conscious eco-friendly choice to reduce plastic use. We would like to emphasise that our staff have been with us for many years and dedicate themselves daily with passion and professionalism to ensure our guests feel warmly welcomed in a relaxing and family-friendly environment. Our resort is located in one of the most authentic and tranquil areas of Zanzibar, ideal for those seeking peace and a close connection with nature. Only soft entertainment is provided, with activities focused on discovering the destination, a point which is clearly communicated at the time of booking. Lastly, regarding the beach, the resort offers a private area for guests, equipped with sun loungers, parasols, and security personnel. However, outside of this area, as it is public land, the presence of beach boys is a well-known characteristic of the destination, over which no hotel can exert full control, although we do our best to manage it appropriately. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future, perhaps for a stay that better matches your expectations. Kind regards, Guest Relations AHG Waridi Beach Resort & SPA

Be careful when you choose to book your stay at Waridi. Photo's you see here don't represent exactly the rooms you are going to stay and the place is a bit old. This place has a cheap feeling even though the price you pay is not cheap considering that you are in Zanzibar. The worst thing about this resort is the SPA center managed from a different company. Be careful of their offers and "special discounts." They are very nice when they are selling their packages but not polite at all when you ask them for refunds if you haven't received the services.

    Property response:

Dear Eni, we really don't understand why you're writing a review after 3 months from your stay. How can your judgment be fair ? Moreover, you haven't even spent 2 nights at the hotel for personal reasons, and you have also signed a dislaiment in which you delare that you left the hotel due to personal reason and for NO reasons linked to the hotel. - Friendly staff - Fun activities - Great food, but limited selection - Nice pool area - Clean facilities.

    - The main Gate is difficult to find. - Bed bugs and termites on bed frames. - The resort spa management will keep bugging you until you agree to use his services. - Insane amount of beggars on the beach. They will disturb you when you try to relax. - Not English-friendly, even on movie nights they will play movies in other languages. - Cats in the dining area while you eat. - Extremely poor wifi/internet connection. - Pool swimming and beach times are limited to 7 PM. - Constant construction noises, you will be guaranteed to hear this throughout the day.

    Property response:

Dear Morne, thank you for sharing your experience! We are very pleased that you remarked on the friendliness of our staff, who in true Zanzibarian style are always smiling and welcoming. We are equally pleased that the activities are fun and that you appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, hygiene is very important to us! We are therefore surprised to read about bedbugs and termites, you probably mistook them for some small and harmless insect that got in when you opened the door or window. In any case, our staff is always on hand to check and intervene promptly! Being that we are on the equator, leaving the pool open beyond a certain time would be dangerous for our guests, but the beach never closes, although we always advise against swimming beyond a certain hour due to the absence of lighting and just for the safety of our guests. We very much hope that we can welcome you back or that you will change your opinion of this review as you have also pointed out many positive aspects of your experience Best regards Guest Relation AHG Waridi Beach Resort & SPA

if you want a beach holiday, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, the tides are always low, there is no sea, and when there is everything dirty, we swam 2 times for 10 days9

    Property response:

Dear Tigran, thank you for sharing your experience at our resort. We are glad that you tended to enjoy your stay and that you appreciated the kindness of our staff, always ready to help with a smile. We use local spirits because it is very important to us to support the local economy, we are sorry if they were not to your liking but we also have international labels on request. Tides, on the other hand, are a phenomenon found all over the island of Zanzibar, high and low tides vary according to the lunar cycle. High tide offers a dreamy sea to swim in while low tide offers the opportunity to discover the underwater flora and fauna with a simple walk. We always advise all our guests to properly inform themselves about the destination where they will be staying 😊 We hope to welcome you again in the future. We recently stayed at this hotel, the experience was absolutely remarkable. The view of the ocean from our room was simply breathtaking. The food variety here surpassed my expectations compared to other hotels in Zanzibar, we took breakfast and dinner included, during the day we were eating at excursions or in the restaurat of the hotel which was nice. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help. My boyfriend proposed to me here, and it was amazing! The manager and half of the staff helped make it super special. The team's support and effort made the moment magical. The setting was beautiful, and everyone was so excited and helpful. Big thanks to the manager for making our engagement day so memorable. If you want a place with a staff that goes the extra mile, this hotel is perfect. We'll always remember our special moment here! Highly recommend it to others!

What I'm about to share could be seen as both a positive and a negative aspect. Right outside the hotel, there are locals offering their services, including people from the Maasai tribe in Tanzania. Initially, they were quite insistent, but in the end, I can say we ended up making new friends. They introduced us to a new culture, and we ended up loving it. Regarding the hotel's massage prices, they are quite high. However, we opted for a massage right there on the beach with a Tanzanian woman named Maila, and it turned out to be one of the best massages I've ever had. I highly recommend trying their services.

the only good points are that animation staff is nice, and spa has reasonable prices.

We were very disappointed by Waridi - on booking pictures, you could have the impression it’s a small, cosy hotel, but it’s actually a big spa with all the inconscient linked: Rooms are old and have a weird smell, bathroom was a drama (door nearly banging in the toilet seat, water heat management was a nightmare, low pressure, with even sometimes no longer water at all…). Animators are friendly, but sometimes animation music is too loud (aquagym at noon for instance - not relaxing at all when you are laying on the beach). The diner buffet is very occidental : too bad that most of dishes are stuff you could eat in Europe, while you could expect more local cuisine such as curry’s, etc. Overall quality from medium to good for some meals. On the contrary, breakfast buffet was very bad: industrial jams, tasteless pastries (and good luck to manage to have crepes, as they were always out…), coffee quality very variable. Also, the private part of the beach is surrounded by locals who are literally sitting and waiting to tout for massages / cashews / clothing etc. It’s a very weird sensation to relax on the beach and see you are watched. For the good points : staff and animators are friendly, good spa for reasonable price.
