A lot of homeless people around were, it was sad to see them.

At night, the area nearby is not particularly safe, but I felt very safe inside the hotel and had no concerns about my belongings.

The place is old but it is well kept up and it looks like they are making upgrades and improvements. The staff was excellent. It was good location and the price was right. I gotckean towels daily. It would have been nice if they offered some type of breakfast but I can be sure I am looking at this for my next SF trip

Neighborhood, at night the homeless get together to change stuff in the street near the hotel, even with policemen around. San Francisco is passing by a serious problems with drugs users

The hotel is a bit outdated, they can do some small changes to get a nicer feel (like changing those bed covers). The overall area while being central is not the best but being close proximity to Moscone Center was a positive for me.

Location was awesome, 2 minute from BART, bus, tram. Everything is right in front of the hotel. The staff was nice. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

We read opinions about homeless people near to the hotel. But we decide to make reservation anyway. It is really creepy after dark in the neighbourhood. Next time we will choose safer neighbourhood. Strange smell in the room.

1. The interior consist of old and antique furnitures (not my type) 2. They don't have bell at the door. It is always lock so you need to knock everytime to come in after going out.

every time you went out you had to leave the key at the reception and the door was locked behind you. not a big deal if you don't mind waiting a few seconds until someone comes from the reception which is a long hall down.

One thing you need to be careful is the location. The area of this hotel is the center of homeless people. Either day or night, you see bunch of homeless people. Fortunately, each transportation is very near to the hotel (right across the street), but walking on the road at night is scary. The bed is not good, I think. After sleep, I feel itchy so much. They should change the sheets which looks so old. And, I wish you have a hairdryer, shampoo and body soap.

People and atmosphere in the hotel are really nice. It's very near from each transportation and center of the city. You can easily go everywhere using transportation, you need to be careful walking on the street tho.

We did our research, so we knew what we were booking - therefore - no disappointments. They are planning to put a restaurant in behind the reception area. That will be a big bonus.

We researched this area thoroughly. We knew about the homeless issues in the area. We knew there was no breakfast. A lot of people complained about leaving the key at the desk (???). It was a great place. Great staff. Spotlessly clean. The homeless people do not bother you. Every form of transport right outside the front door - street cars, buses and trains (get a Clipper card app - awesome). Union Square five minutes walk. Huge Whole Foods market one block away with hot food. Two cafes in either direction. Yep - it's old, but the room was huge (we booked a family room with it's own bathroom).

Cleanliness of the room.

If you want to stay in the city close to many attractions this would be the place to stay. There are cafe’s close by priced reasonably. One draw back the room was not as clean as I expected, went to a Walgreens that is close by and bought desinfectante spray and wipes. Other than that was a great place to stay.
