Walls could be scrubbed down and the tub could be scrubbed better. Also the beds were uncomfortable but after a long day exploring the beach I still slept all night.

I loved the staff, the decor, room size and location.

Thin walls and it is close to a busy road. Place seems like it is a few years from collapsing.

Funky decor in a great location and within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. Kind and informative during check in.

The price was a lil steep n the bed was smaller than a queen.

Really liked how the hotel was decorated. Like a hotel set back in the 50's. Centrally located for where we were headed.

No air conditioning, box fan was ok, but not great. Hot water in shower was "warm".

Room was fun with the decor/theme. Breakfast place right next door was convenient for any breakfast or meals, with additional restaurants in the area within walking distance. Quiet.

    Good Basic Motel in Astoria
    • Leisure trip

The rooms are generally in good shape but there is some wear and tear on the windows, linoleum bathroom floors, sink, and curtains. In one of our 3 rooms there were dirty wet socks and a wet packet of ?? behind the bathroom door. That was a disappointing surprise because everything else seemed clean. The "breakfast" is very minimal.

Summer during Buoy 10 salmon fishing season in Astoria is very high demand. So the room prices were extremely high... like 2 to 3 times off season rates. The rooms are simple basic retro 50's minimalist motel furniture and decor. Beds were comfortable, everything was mostly clean. There is a refrigerator, TV and good wifi signal. It is located next to Pig N Pancake. Keyless room code worked well.

No air conditioning so it was "stuffy" all night. The noise from the road and other guests made it difficult to sleep. The worst was the parking lot: not enough spaces.

Bed was comfortable. Appreciated the microwave and refrigerator; decor was cool. Wasn't able to participate in the continental breakfast so I can't rate that.

the outlet in the bathroom did not work. no air conditioning. the chairs felt wobbly and I felt like I would break them so there was no comfortable seating in the room. the bathroom was falling apart. the toilet wobbled when we sat on it and we were concerned it might fall through the floor. when pulling the lever on the tub to use the shower, the faucet literally pulled away from the wall. there was also no one in the office to let us get coffee and the so called fee breakfast.

    cute theme, good location

All of the updates seemed to end at the bathroom. The shower had some issues, and the trim around the base of the bathroom was coming apart in many places. Also the front office did not open until 9:00am, meaning no breakfast or coffee until then. Might not be an issue for tourists, but was a challenge for staying there for work.

The style of the motel was fantastic, some nice mid-century modern touches with furniture and accessories. The location, although a bit noisy, was convenient within walking distance to the river walk and some restaurants. Excellent value.

My chief disappointment was the breakfast. The decoration was the main reason we chose this location, and I have to say it felt a little lazy. There could've been a much more immersive experience, but it looked like somebody bought a motel and a bunch of brightly colored mini fridges and microwaves, and called it good enough

The breakfast was the most disappointing part. Instant oatmeal, a muffin and some coffee is barely a breakfast, and hardly even worth mentioning on the listing.
