Very clean and near the ocean

There is no elevator and that didn't matter to us. It was nice of the desk to call us right after we booked to stress that fact and give us our choice of floors. Our stay was just 2 weeks into the season and they opened with a scaled down staff for the roughly half full Avondale. The guys at the desk multi-tasked and offered to take luggage up to the rooms if you needed it. They were very attentive to the breakfast facility which had basic offerings, somewhat limited in what is still off-season. They were still gearing up (some hotels still closed along Beach Ave.) but they made up for it with a very reasonable room rate. There was really nothing we didn't like, though a microwave would have been nice (not a deal breaker for us)

View from the 3rd floor of the ocean across the street, from the porch and from the table inside the room's big window, was really nice. Almost every 2nd & 3rd floor room has that view. 1st floor rooms do not look over the dunes. Location is close to the sand and also to the heart of historic district and shopping. In fact our bathroom window looked out over the back yards of the "7 Sisters", noted neighbors of the Avondale, We left our car in it's spot and walked everywhere. A basic breakfast got our day started and off we went. Clean inside and out.

Spotlessly clean and very spacious room with gorgeous views of the ocean. Easy walking distance to the Washington Mall shops and restaurants. The staff were wonderful.

The location is outstanding. It is directtly across the street from the ocean and withing a short stroll to the center of town. Add to that is a clean, spacious room and very friendly staff. The Aaondale was a bargain !

As I said the property is a bit outdated and breakfast is very basic, just a couple of things that could be a bit better other than that it’s great

We loved our stay in Avondale mainly because the staff were so caring and friendly, they treat all guests with respect and kindness, we were very happy. The property itself is a bit outdated but it has the main amenities needed for a comfortable stay, the location is perfect, next to the beach and town.

Staff at the front desk were awesome and accomodating. Facilities all nice and clean. Loved to watch sunset from my room. And beach was right across the street. Walking distance to center were all the stores and restaurants are at. Staying again soon.

If I had any con it would have been nice to see more fresh fruit available

Location was perfect, our room had wonderful ocean views, we felt comfortable enough to kept our balcony door open at night to hear the ocean waves. Breakfast was good cereal, oatmeal, bagels and donuts. Coffee was good freshly brewed and never worried they would run out..

For me no elevator was hard. I did manage it, but the more walking we did, the harder it became. Obviously that was my issue.

Small bathroom. But, as I said, everything worked and it was clean.

The room was clean, well lit and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but clean and everything worked. The staff was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast was satisfying. All in all, we liked our stay at Avondale by the Sea.
